I have the smaller version of that Apple monitor which only does 640x840, I had forgotten the larger monitor had that higher res. Good luck getting those other cards to play nice… those silly incompatibility are always have a few cards standing by… because I forget which works with which.

I've long said that if I ever got a bazillion dollars, I'd buy the SC2k source code from EA, then hire a developer to compile a version that runs natively on modern macOS...with zero changes, other than offering a map size that's like 4x the original.

2025-05-05 23:45:43 +0000 UTCAh, which version of the SimCity 2000 soundtrack is my favorite... that could be a whole podcast on its own. But the Mac version was the first, and it's still my favorite version of the game to play. If I had my druthers (which I don't lately) a deep dive into Neil Aspinall's role in the trademark dispute is one of my white whale projects. It's probably not a coincidence that things between the Beatles and various organizations got settled or sorted in the run-up to or after his death.

2025-05-05 22:58:23 +0000 UTCI JUST resurrected my copy of SimCIty 2000 this weekend on a G4 Cube...instantly brought me back. I never really grooved on subsequent versions (3000, 4, that abomination from 2013) but SC2K is an eternal jam. The music on Mac is sublime, if mildly repetitive. And it fit on two floppies! All that to say I look forward to watching this video, Colin. ;-)
