Yeah-- birds and reptiles aren't anthropomorphized in the same way as mammals in this world so they're on the menu. Rask and Quanaq eat a bird early in the comic, page 31 (you can see the remains of it.) Egg doesn't eat birds (or fish, regularly) since she can't catch them very well. (Badgers aren't know for their speed or ambush hunting, after all.) If there were easily accessible reptiles in the area, Egg probably already ate them. A fully healed Rask on the scene will open up new food options for them, certainly!

Im assuming birds are on a slightly different level than fish, but eggs dont feel so its okay (fish feel but the land dwelling creatures can't relate to them so they're perceived as just food, just like how people see fish irl. Haven't seen a turtle yet though so maybe they're not off the table.

The eggs are getting scarce... seems they'll soon have to face the problems Hemlock talked about...

She cares so genuinely for him, it's adorable. They each needed some kindness in their lives.

Last panel i think "scarce" is misspelled as "scare" in Eggs dialog bubble.

Love it. I feel for Rask so much there.
One quick fix: "eggs are getting scarce" last panel

Question. I assume them eating eggs is seen as ok because the animals they come from aren’t sentient similar to the fish. So why not try to eat the turtles and ducks like the fish?
