Today I want to tell you a little about the wonderful Dasha and our shoot in Warsaw this spring.

I’d been following her for quite a while. I’d seen her in the work of fellow photographers, but somehow I could never catch her — neither in Ukraine nor in Europe. Finally, in the fall of 2024, we met when I was in Warsaw (getting my visa for Japan). But as it happened, Dasha was busy with work, autumn didn’t spoil us with sunny days — and when she finally came over for a shoot, the light was gloomy and not ideal for shooting. But the bigger “problem” was that we simply couldn’t stop talking. There was a match from the very first minute — conversation, topics, shared experiences, photography, modeling, relationships — everything at once, and we only had a couple of hours… so instead of shooting, we just talked. And we were perfectly fine with that.

Our next “match” happened at the end of this May. I knew from the start it would be an easy, beautiful shoot. I knew I would enjoy the process, the personality, the conversations, and the results — and I wasn’t wrong.

Interestingly, I’d always assumed Dasha worked as a professional model — I’d seen her in the work of several international photographers. But it turns out she doesn’t. She mostly poses for herself, for the joy of creating, and still isn’t sure if she wants to step fully into the professional modeling world. She told me she occasionally takes on paid shoots, but not often — more out of caution and a certain doubt in her own “strength” in this field. In my opinion, though, she’s already at the level where her work deserves fair commercial pay.

If any of you here are photographers who shoot women — especially in the nude art genre — I highly recommend paying attention to Dasha. She’s an inspiration, a joy to work with, and she absolutely deserves to be paid for her talent and effort.
