Art Preview - Devotion Story CG

Hey, cake gang! We're back again with one more art preview for the month. 

This CG is for the beginning of the Devotion storyline, where Kyou discovers the power of his penlight during a furious confrontation with Hiroko. Having mesmerised her mid-argument, Kyou takes the opportunity to plant the idea in Hiroko's head that she can't keep a single negative thought about him in her mind, feeling an incredible feeling of devotion towards him instead. The transformation when she wakes from her penlight-induced trance is almost immediate as her hot-headed fury at Kyou is flipped around into absolute delight at the fact she's in his presence!

Kyou has trouble adjusting to the reality of Hiroko being his squealing fangirl, having butted heads with her for years, and he shoves her away out of reflex when her giddy intensity gets too much. She crashes painfully to the floor of the alley they're in and grimaces as the old anger returns. Hiroko looks up at her assailant and, just for a moment, seems about to unleash her pent-up fury on him. Did the shock of the fall break the spell on her mind?

A moment later and the anger visibly drains from Hiroko's face as her thoughts appear to flip around in real time. A few moments more and the conflict is gone; her suggested devotion to Kyou having won out as she stares up at him admiringly.

Keen to test her further, and also feeling a bit petty, Kyou sees fit to remind her of all the times she was hard on him in the past. Coupled with her newfound adoration for the class creep, Hiroko finds those memories unbearable and breaks down in tears, completely ashamed of herself.

Satisfied with the response, and not wanting to drag this out any longer, Kyou tells her all is forgiven if she turns over a new leaf and starts treating him with a lot more respect from now on. The mere fact that Kyou wants her near him after all drives her wild with happiness, and she thanks him profusely for giving her another chance...

Witnessing Hiroko's mental collapse fills Kyou with a massive rush of power, but even so he can't escape the feeling that this is all immensely screwed-up. Is he seriously going to use his penlight to force girls to like him? Isn't he better than that...?
