Art Update - Delusion Route Confrontation Scene

Note - As usual with these art updates, there may be spoilers ahead. This post concerns the Delusion route, where Kyou impresses his desires on Nozomi and her friends instead of simply listening to them.

Hi, cakes!

This is a scene I've wanted to get drawn since pretty much the start, so I'm quite chuffed about it happening now ^^ It's from the Delusion route, the very first storyline written for Penlight, and depicts the scene towards the end when Nozomi and a friend angrily confront Kyou in his room. 

Besides figuring out what he's been up to with his penlight, they demand he fix what he did to their friend, who he influenced the other day into giving up her dreams and ambitions so she wouldn't trouble him in his pursuit of Nozomi. So Kyou and the girls argue, with Kyou still holding fast to the belief that he can't influence people to do anything they didn't really want, penlight or no penlight. That means their friend was totally fine about stepping away from her dreams in exchange for a more chill personality (he was helping her, goddammit!). 

Surely they know that too, right? So maybe they're not as sincere about what they want from Kyou as they seem...

So he convinces himself he's not the bad guy here and that these two are just goading him into using the penlight on them. He's all too happy to oblige once they seemingly give him the opportunity, sitting side by side on his bed so he can flash them both with the light at once. 

Nozomi's initially scared as the light passes her face again. Seeing the light again gives her a familiar feeling, and one she immediately recognizes as dangerous. But she can't look away from it even as she tries to tell her friend to flee. 

But it's already too late for both of them as they find themselves helplessly staring up at the light while Kyou passes it across their eyes again and again, gently guiding them into a trance and proving himself right more and more as he does so. They wouldn't go along with this if they didn't want to, right?

As they drop deeper and deeper, Kyou commands them to sleep and, to his delight, they slump into each other asleep in trance and fully vindicate Kyou in the process. See? They totally wanted to him to drop them into trance all along and their anger was just a sham to provoke him into doing it!

This is when Kyou's at his most dangerous. Having found validation for his delusions, the girls are basically powerless to resist as Kyou takes advantage of their entranced state to fully impress his warped version of reality on them both. When he wakes them up they've bought all the way in to his viewpoint, their previous anger remembered only as an act.

So the girls share a laugh about how silly they were being, and now no one can stop Kyou from taking his delusions to their natural conclusion, where he'll convince Nozomi to be his girlfriend just like he wanted...

These outlines will hopefully be drawn up fully in time for this weekend's early access update, with a variant featuring Hiroko to follow later. Bye for now!
