Roadmap - March 1st
Added 2022-03-01 16:37:54 +0000 UTCHey all! Just wanted to give a quick update on what's planned and upcoming for the Cyberpunk Red Companion.
Finish PDF Export
Top priority is putting the finishing touches on PDF export, which has few rough edges and missing pieces that need to be done before it becomes available to the public.
Clean up Landscape Mode
Up next will be finishing landscape orientation. This will open the door to desktop versions for Windows, MacOS, or Web. Early versions for Windows, MacOS, and Web are up and running, though each has its own issues.
Desktop & Web Versions
The Windows and MacOS versions cannot yet import/export characters or use custom character images, and there is currently no good way to implement a premium upgrade.
Those things work on Web, though there are some concerns about persisting all the app's data in web storage, and the alternative of using sign-in and persisting all data to the cloud could get expensive.
Net Architecture Generator & Other Netrunning Features
Another planned feature is an improved Netrunning experience, with a NET Architecture Generator, slotting programs into a cyberdeck, and other Netrunner-focused quality of life changes.
Shared Online Experience
What if a GM could create a game session which players can join? A player could roll initiative and have it instantly reflected in the GM's initiative list, and players could see where they sit in initiative order. GMs could send messages, contacts, objectives, gear, etc. to their players. Players could send messages and items to each other. There are a lot of possibilities here, and while it'll be a challenging endeavor, it would also be really freaking cool.
Comments
I can definitely add a JSON export for Foundry, but I'd either need to know the expected format for the Foundry import, or someone would need to make the Foundry import compatible.

2022-10-01 20:48:40 +0000 UTCWhat method is there to export the data? The Foundry import is just a JSON file. So it would mainly be a matter of making sure that the export matches the import format. I didn't see a way to export a character to a file though, so I couldn't see what would need to be modified.

2022-09-29 02:06:01 +0000 UTCA few people have reached out with intent to integrate the Red Companion with Foundry, but have never followed through. I unfortunately don't have the time to create that integration while also continuing work on the Red Companion itself.

2022-09-04 22:16:34 +0000 UTCI just wanted to echo the interest in integration with VTTs. It would be fantastic to have Foundry work as well for generating characters, encounters, architectures, etc. as this app. My use case is slanted towards online since I’m reffing for players in 4 states plus Mexico. Still, very appreciative of what y’all have been able to provide!
