Last Days of Solomon - More Factions, More Actions

Right now Abe and I are in the middle of two huge pieces of the Solomon project - our very first playtest is coming to a close within the next three weeks, and we're getting together materials for the next playtest, which we'll be releasing to people late May. I've been in a very manic state of mind, which has made it a lot easier, but it's still a monumental undertaking. Abe is creating a map and writing about all the districts, I'm providing information for each Character Card, we're both reviewing all the rules and editing them and rewriting them and looking over Factions and creating another 14 (!) Above I've included two of my favorite factions from Solomon - the Ziveri Clan, a biker gang / crime syndicate that rides around on giant wolves, and the Lead Market, a gathering of strange demons from beyond the furthest reaches of the dark city, who will sell you anything. Some important developments we've made are the decision to include Agenda Actions for each Faction. These are the actions we're allowed to take for that Faction, that are unique to the Faction. While I'm not sure about giving the players all this information, the intention is to level the playing field. Plus, we're able to fit all of it on a single page!

I've also attached a PDF of one of the first major completed sections regarding the rules - the rules for Noble Actions. Each player is allowed to take 5 Standard Actions in a week, which are a combination between these and Character Card Actions, and they have four stats they're able to use to advance them:

• Decadence. Wealth and riches.
• Might. Physical strength and military power.
• Will. Charisma and influence.
• Covert Dice. Secrecy and deceit.

The first three are considered Forces, while Covert Dice are considered a separate pool. We'll be revisiting the rules for Forces as we work on the Character Creation section, but for now I thought you'd appreciate a window into what it's possible to do as a character in Solomon. Plus! There's a great duel play example that actually happened between Sidus (Landgrave Ezra of House Dontyenn) and Jinx (Princess Araeyn-Saarya of House Volaya) as they fight for the will of the Queen. It was revealed that Araeyn-Saarya had been supporting the rebellion, and Ezra took it upon himself to enforce the will of the now-dead crown. In doing so, he made a deal with King Swallow, the Prince of Songbirds and the most cruel and powerful demon in the city, in order to have the ability to kill Araeyn-Saarya. However, he could only call upon that strength when he induced the death of others...
