so ummm... the story of the Slowpoke well, it's actually a lot darker in the games, a group of Team Rocket grunts went to the Slowpoke well not for water... they were actually chopping off the tails of the slowpoke to sell them, because it's considered a delicacy. You can actually eat them in a restaurant in one of the later games lol. In later generations they've slightly retconned it though so it's not quite as bad, because the tails now regenerate like a lizard. The ones used in restaurants are from tails that just naturally broke off instead of being cut off, you're still eating its tail, but it's less cruel now I guess? Here's one of its Pokedex entries from a later game generation "Slow-witted and oblivious, this PokΓ©mon won't feel any pain if its tail gets eaten. It won't notice when its tail grows back, either."
