That whole thing was such a mix of emotions!

Ygritte was killed by the boy who father she shot right in front of him. So while her death is sad it's also justice.

Sam has killed A White Walker and now a Thenn. Sam is indeed "Sam, The Slayer!" Alliser Thorne is a douche and a half, but I still respect him. He fought and he fought well. He was also very clearly pissed off that he had to be pulled away from the battle. You could tell he wanted to stick around, but also knew he was hurt and therefore a liability. That said, much as Thenns are horrible people, this fight, while well filmed, written, and performed is one of the battles where I find it impossible to root against either side: The Wildlings are just trying to survive and The Night's Watch are doing what they made an oath to do. But Osha said it best; "The swords should be going north; not south." The Iron Throne is meaningless to The White Walkers. Mance understands that and I do believe Jon does too. Mance does not WANT to fight against The Night's Watch, but feels he has to in order to keep the ones following him alive. Grenn is a gigachad! Mad props to him and to the 5 others who held the gate knowing they were going to die. I also do respect The Giant they killed; dood lost who I think was the leader of The Giant tribe, if nothing else clearly someone he cared about. That shot with no edits will always be regarded as cinema masterpiece material to me. I love those kinds of scenes. It's a hard feat to pull off, but GOT does it quite a few times. The fight between Jon and The Thenn chieftain is such an epic clash also... 11:07 Everybody stop! Hammer time! I guess the dood may need some Tylenol? Uhh Jon hammered his point? He hit that nail on the head? That was a skull crushing finale? Okay I'll stop... XD *Ygritte is hit in the heart with an arrow.* Bon Jovi, don't you dare! I did feel sad for Jon over Ygritte's death, but I also do not blame Olly for what he did; dood legit thought he was saving Jon and also Ygritte was the one who shot Olly's father in the head. It's one of those situations where the circumstances are the tragedy. She killed a lot of innocent people, but RIP Ygritte all the same. That scythe is both the most bizarre and yet awesome defense weapon I've ever seen. Like what madman thought it would be a great idea to lodge what is essentially a ship anchor into an ice wall? One of the most out of pocket, but awesome things I have ever witnessed. XD But you're spot on; this episode was brutal. Edit: Jon's plan is a fool's errand, but it is the best option; kill Mance and The Wildlings will turn on one another over what will be a power struggle, but Jon will also likely die himself. I love Jon so much; dood is so selfless and he's even got some great one-liners.
