2025-02-07 20:13:31 +0000 UTCYou know I actually like the little bit of extra lore the anime adds to Moltres here, connecting it to the Pokemon league. In the games despite Moltres being one of the first legendary Pokémon in the franchise it doesn't actually have much lore at least in gen 1, it's just a super powerful Pokemon you can find in a cave near the end of the game before the pokemon league, in later games it just wanders around regions and you have to randomly find it. So giving it a bit of lore connecting it to the Pokemon League is kind of nice, that was just a sort of spirit manifestation of Moltres's will by the way, so Ash couldn't catch it. You do have to wonder when Giovanni will eventually put a hit out on Jessie, James and Meowth for wasting all his money...
