2025-01-24 16:18:11 +0000 UTCso... unfortunately we won't really see that badass Pokemon properly in the anime, this episode, and a couple of others is a tie in to the first Pokemon Movie, the Pokemon is called Mewtwo, and it's a genetic experiment made by Team Rocket's scientists using the DNA of the common ancestor of all (well at least most) Pokemon, his appearance was very inspired by Frieza, and similarly they're both genetic mutants who are super strong. The dub made a lot of changes to the movie... but I do have a soft spot for it. Mewtwo is also super popular like charizard and pikachu. I feel like bringing this up as well, yes, Giovanni in the games is both the leader of Team Rocket, and also the final Gym leader you fight before going to the Pokemon League, in the games you meet him a number of times, and after beating him in his gym he agrees to disband Team Rocket and leave acknowledging that you beat him, he has his own sense of honour, but like, obviously we can't have that happen in the anime, because what would we do without Jessie, James and Meowth?
