Our Khaleesi has quite a cockiness to her now! Of course, her kids certainly allow for a lot of confidence!

DANY AINT PLAYING! - Game of Thrones 3x7-1

Comments

I think her approach is also partly inspired by what Jorah told her back in I think either S1 or S2 "Aegon didn't seize the 7 kingdoms because they were his right; he seized them because he could." Dany should not act entitled to the throne, but rather take it not because she deserves it, but because she is worthy of it.

joffrey was indeed right for once. letting dany grow in power unchecked is risky

I do like how Margery tries to paint the best possible picture for Sansa to point out the bright side of things regarding her terrible situation. She is being genuine and sincere with her. Bronn kind of tries to do the same for Tyrion although in a much more crass way. XD I love the detail of when Tywin walks up the stairs and stands before Joffrey, he is looking down at him. Joffrey looks meek while Tywin looks imposing; tells you who holds the real power. Tywin is king in all but name imo. But you were spot on in agreeing with Joffy-boy; Tywin is too pragmatic about the situation as he believes the dragons Dany has will be more like the physically deformed ones rather than the ones Aegon and his two sisters conquered Westeros with. While I admire Dany's desire to free the slaves, she's trying to overturn a society that's been this way for thousands of years. She may have dragons and The Unsullied, but altering the foundation of an entire civilization will take more than three adolescent dragons and an army. Especially since its fair to assume not all slaves are mistreated and have only known the one life.

Regarding Sansa's opinion on Tyrion, in the books he was quite ugly to begin with, and in the battle of the Black Water the wound he got on his face cut off most of his nose which did not help his looks at all. So it makes sense why she's a lot more repulsed by the idea of marrying him there, he's far more attractive in this series. The scene between Tywin and Joffrey is great, Tywin subtly putting Joffrey in his place while still maintaining decorum. Ironic that the one time Joffrey is talked down to, he's actually right to be concerned about the dragons. Danny starts off her mission to become Queen because she believes it's hers my rights and she's just reclaiming it. Yet she's following more in the footsteps of her ancestors, who took the kingdom by conquest. No need to care about legitimacy when you have an army and dragons.
