2025-01-05 19:28:51 +0000 UTCOne thing to mention here (aside from there being an after-credits scene in all of the movies), this movie took quite a few liberties with the source material, so I wouldn't worry too much about the lore of the first one. They're gonna start pulling more and more stuff from the games, in the sequel movies. This was more like a "movie with Sonic in it", the sequels are proper Sonic movies, I'd say.

2025-01-05 19:22:38 +0000 UTCI really enjoyed the film, you'll honestly be surprised by just how much the sequels improve as well, like the second and especially third film feels much more like a sonic film. Like, as much as I like 1, 2 and 3 just are leagues better in my opinion. Jim Carrey is basically having the time of his life working on these, his Eggman is a bit of a different interpretation of the character, but it's just so fun to watch him act, he's semi retired now, but said he's up for doing another Sonic film if they want him back for 4. By the way, just a heads up for the next 2, each film has post credit scenes.

2025-01-05 16:22:42 +0000 UTCDon't know if you are aware of the initial drama when they first announced the Sonic movie, they tried to make Sonic look realistic (and horrifying as a result) and there was so much backlash they went back and completely changed him to be more accurate to the original (the poor animators). But it was a good move and the movie was far better than anyone could have anticipated, in large part due to Jim Carrey who nailed his scenes. And the sequels have honestly been even better, in part due to them focusing more on the Sonic characters from the games and less on human characters.
