2024-12-17 18:29:45 +0000 UTCI love that scene between Catelyn and Brienne. Catelyn's motherly instincts kicked in and she wanted to help Brienne grieve, but also uplift her. Likewise, Brienne did appreciate what Catelyn was doing for her. Qhorin and Sam were both strongly vouching for Jon. Mormont is harsh, but he is fair. And Jon finally gets to be what he wanted to be; a ranger. But Qhorin is right as J pointed out; uniting the Wildlings is unheard of as they hate each other almost as much as they hate Westeros. However, if Mance dies; the unifying link goes away and they go back to hating and killing each other. Jonah all but confirmed that he is in love with Dany to her. Mind you, he was speaking sense, despite his emotional outpour. He's also right in that aligning with foreigners outside of Westeros would make her look more like a conqueror than a liberator. The common people seldom care who rules them so long as they can live quiet and peaceful lives. Oh no, Tickle-Me-Elmo died. What a tragedy :P

2024-12-17 16:08:33 +0000 UTCMance Rayder being able to unite the Wildlings is a significant feat, as they are usually scattered among different tribes and families that frequently fight each other. Also the fact that he was a former man of the night watch means he would know how best to fight the night watch. He's been mentioned in passing a few times up until now but not really been a key figure in the story up until now.
