Same I remember I was at Walmart ( I was like 5 maybe ) and I saw the VHS of this. And I begged my mom can I get this . She said wait, christmas is coming up ( it was already dec) and I was sad and was like ok but didn't make a fuse . Well long story short lol my mom was like I'm going talk to Santa stay in your room play your games and don't come out,, we'll idk 30 mins later she came back with the Pokémon VHS tape i wanted plus the Pokémon VHS tapes of the boat and the tentacool episodes after this and the earlier eps to this one... that day I also started questioning if Santa is real cause that wasn't on the list and there was no way my mom talk to Santa cause the mall was already closed lol 😂

2024-12-04 20:24:13 +0000 UTCYou've probably noticed... but none of our main cast are particularly the brightest early on... I mean, they are a bunch of kids to be fair lol, so you can give them a bit of slack at times. so here's some fun little info on Magikarp, it's concept is based on a Chinese legend of a carp that persevered and leapt up a waterfall called the Dragon's Gate, transforming into a dragon itself when it reached the top. That's why its evolution Gyarados looks like that, it's based on a Chinese dragon, similar to shenron. It's actually kind of hard to raise in the early games, it can't do any damage until level 15, and evolves at 20, it's pretty useless, but when it evolves it's one of the strongest non legendary Pokémon in the game. Gyarados actually isn't a dragon type in the game though... they had to make it water/flying type because it'd be way too overpowered (at least in the earlier games) if it was Dragon type, in Legends Arceus, a game set in the past you can actually see some Gyarados flying over a waterfall like in the legend, it's a neat detail for a period piece game.

2024-12-04 13:05:36 +0000 UTCThis episode, episode 17 and episode 18 are the episodes I've watched the most, cause as a kid I had a few VHS and episodes 16,17,18 was one of the sets of episodes. Also fun fact episode 18 is one of a few "Banned" episodes, so unfortunately its not on Netflix, although they did actually dub that episode, which i do think was on the VHS I had. wasas a kid it was like the only way to have seen the episode, and the reason I watched this set of episodes on VHS over any of the other sets is cause they say my name in this episode lol, so like as a kid having a show you're in love with say your name was like the best thing ever.
