I DID IT FOR ME. - Breaking Bad 5x16

Comments

That's totally okay! I look forward to when you have the time to watch it, though! I just recommend not waiting TOO long, but only because I want Breaking Bad to be fresh in your memory when you watch it!

Professor Nebula

Needs to be voted in like any other show

Psychostalker

Let's gooooo, so glad you found/made the time to watch the entire episode!!🥹

It's been incredibly enjoyable watching this again through new eyes, Curtis. Glad you enjoyed it! To me, it's a timeless show that if released today would still hold up. On a personal note, meth played a hugely negative role in my upbringing, and I was lucky to see what it did to others, and know I didn't want that for myself. The show being set in the Southwest just gives it that extra feeling of realism for me, being from Arizona. If I recall you lived in New Mexico for a bit right? Either way, it's cool because when I tell my UK or international friends I grew up in the desert, and they're confused, I just ask "Have you ever seen Breaking Bad?" Turns out, the show has blown up over in Europe the past few years (for whatever reason). So they know exactly what I mean haha.

Empyre

Wouldn't BCS just take the place of BB? Or is it filled with something else already

Empyre

Loved seeing you watch this! You should watch El Camino and Better Call Saul next!

Kevin Austin Webb

Agreed. El Camino gives Jesse his much needed epilogue to the show.

Giggles

So I think you need to do the breaking bad movie El Camino. To finish this off, not saying now, but plz do the movie later on. I don't wanna say to much but it is in the breaking bad story/canon

Heavenly Demon

neither will be happening anytime soon, they mentioned in some replies on this post and some of the other recent ones, that they dont have time in their schedule for a movie right now, and that better call saul would have to be voted in, but because the schedule is full, there will likely be no polls for a while

Matthew MacKinnon

Me too... I looked so forward to it every day, that it feels like something is missing now.

Spaz Boys Comedy

This was too much fun to watch along with you, i'm glad you finally got to finish it but i'm sad the reactions to it are over.

Been an amazing ride! Few things I wanna point out- there was a teenager named Kevin Cordasco who had cancer and was a huge fan of this show when it was coming out, he visited the set and met the cast and crew. He knew he probably wasn't going to make it to see the finale, so Vince Gilligan asked him what he thought should happen at the end, and it was his idea to reintroduce Gretchen and Elliot into the plot to tie the money plot together. He passed away before he could see the finale but his idea was included in the end and I think that's really cool. I've seen some criticism of this episode saying things go a little too perfectly for Walt and maybe he doesn't deserve to get off this easy, but honestly I think in the end he did the right thing, it's crazy how they managed to squeeze in a finale where you actually are rooting for Walter again. And of course, he dies in a meth lab. It tied up every loose end and was an extremely satisfying conclusion to a phenomenal show, 10/10

Zeemor

I definitely get what he - and you - are saying. And I agree. There is that temptation to take it a bit easy on him because of his circumstances, but you're right: He was an arrogant douche.

We are a pretty fun group! 🙂

It would have to be sometime in the future, when my schedule isn't as tight.

Spaz Boys Comedy

100%!

Spaz Boys Comedy

Couldn't agree more!

Spaz Boys Comedy

I was blown away!

Spaz Boys Comedy

I don't have time in the schedule for movies right now.

Spaz Boys Comedy

Good stuff. El Camino is up next, I guess :)

xxDrain

Such an incredible show. This was my third time watching it, and it never ceases to amaze!

CitadelBrulee

Such a good ending and perfect song choice. "I guess I got what I deserved" 👌

doctordirt

Amazing end to an amazing show. I love how Breaking bad has no caveats. "Its starts slow but gets good", "it goes downhill in the last season", "great show but the ending sucks". Nope, not Breaking bad. Just gripping, well written and well acted from start to finish.

Man i am SO GLAD you reacted to this show Curtis, it felt like i was watching right beside ya! Im so thrilled that you enjoyed it as much as i did watching it for the first time, id consider it nothing less than a brilliant show! I am curious tho, if you ever found the time would you be interested in watching El Camino? I know you have a tight schedule so id understand if a movie isnt possible, but if you did find the time i think you'd really enjoy it!

Gaara _OW

Next up is El Camino which is a direct continuation finishing Jesse's escape, then Better Call Saul, the prequel and sequel which starts and finishes Saul's story

Tbush

Wow, what a fucking end.......

JFKGotWrecked

This was a great journey. I joined the Goosh because you were reacting to this and I since grew a fondness for this community

Jordan Lassiter

Best show ever.

Ian McBride

Vince Gilligan, the creator, has always said you're not supposed to like Walter by the end and doesn't understand why so many people do. He also doesn't get why so many despised Skylar as a character because she really did nothing wrong. In an interview he said—"Walter was really sanctimonious, and he was really full of himself. He had an ego the size of California. And he always saw himself as a victim. He was constantly griping about how the world shortchanged him, how his brilliance was never given its due. When you take all of that into consideration, you wind up saying, “Why was I rooting for this guy?” I have no sympathy for Walter. He got thrown a lifeline early on. And, if he had been a better human being, he would’ve swallowed his pride and taken the opportunity to treat his cancer with the money his former friends offered him. He goes out on his own terms, but he leaves a trail of destruction behind him." And I agree. I think the reason a lot of people like Walter is because everyone at some point in their lives feels trapped or underappreciated, and Walter broke out of that and did what so many people wish they could do—but of course would never because they are "better human beings". Like living vicariously through Walter. He got exactly what he deserved in the end for what he did to so many people including his family, but it made for a great time lol Really one of the best shows out there with some top tier actors! Definitely one of my favorites by far.

emerald💖octopus

Agreed. A LARGE part of the enjoyment of this journey has been traveling it with you guys!

Hey Curtis, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for letting us take you on the journey of watching Breaking Bad. Experiencing the ups and downs of Walter White’s transformation and Jesse Pinkman’s struggles together was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had. From the intense moments like the "Face Off" with Gus, to the quiet, reflective scenes that left us all thinking, this show was such a rollercoaster and sharing it with you made it even more memorable. Watching your reactions to the twists like Walt running over Gus men for Jesse, the iconic one-liners ("I am the one who knocks!", "Say My Name", "Tread Lightly"), and the brilliant storytelling reminded me why this series is such a masterpiece. It’s not just about the show itself but the time we spent together discussing it, debating the characters' choices, and just being engrossed in the whole Breaking Bad world. Those moments made it so special for me. So, thank you for joining us on this wild ride. I’ll always remember it as something we got to experience together, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

Brother E

That moment was amazingly hard-hitting! What a fantastic show!

This moment is so great, reminds me a bit of the Re:Zero moment where Subaru admits to Emilia that he was doing what he did for himself, its powerful to realize how people use "for the sake of others" as an excuse when they're actually doing what they want for themselves, even if thats something that ultimately benefits others, its important to recognize and acknowledge that what they're doing is simply them acting out their own will, rather than doing something that was asked of them by others. Doing what you do for the benefit of others can still be a selfish act, and its also not necessarily a bad thing to be selfish and do what you want, and many people dont always realize that fact. I think both of those are good lessons for people
