2024-11-23 19:11:59 +0000 UTCFun fact lad but those fishes that you saw in the aquarium are not fish/water type Pokemon but the only "real" animals that appear in the entirety of the pokemon anime in the last 20+ years of it's existence. This will be the first, last, and only time you see "real" animals in the Pokemon world as from now on all animals will be Pokemon, as they are the equivalent in this world. Personally I think they, the anime team and Pokemon company, added those fishes because they only had 150 pokemon, give or take, in the entire world. Really not enough to fill out the world truthfully speaking. They did not had, to my knowledge, created anymore Pokemon to follow after the first generation. Now though there are over 1K species of Pokemon roaming around the pokemon world!

Brock and Misty are actually the first 2 Gym Leaders you fight in the Kanto region, Misty's sisters were original characters for the anime (the anime in general vaguely follows the games, but does its own thing, pretty much because the first few games are very story light). Misty actually is a pretty strong trainer in her own right, even without her type advantage, she's actually a lot stronger then Brock in the games. Misty's sisters were actually kind of added into the last Kanto games though, Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, the Gym trainers you fight before Misty in Cerulean City were named after them, it's a nice little nod to the anime, that game in general had a lot of fun little additions for anime fans.
