YOUR FAVORITE ANIME ARC?
Added 2024-11-14 23:09:46 +0000 UTCI was just at the store and I ran into a fellow anime nerd. Our conversation got me wondering what is you guys' favorite individual arc in anime? Mine is - as you can tell from the picture - the Chimera Ant Arc of HxH.
We'll see if One Piece can overtake it by the time it's over or if another contender comes along, but for now that arc is pure perfection to me!

I think you will be surprised how well written is succession arc (better than ant arc at this rate) if they ever make hunter hunter season 2😂

2024-11-15 21:43:50 +0000 UTCWhile i agree he has one of the best stories, they are talking story arcs not character arcs. So you could go for the Golden Age arc, there is the church with the "angels". Personally i really liked the war arc that ended with Ganishka.

Twin Star Exorcists: Final battle against Sakanashi.

2024-11-15 01:26:09 +0000 UTCI respect that. It's my favorite anime and all the arcs are great imo. It comes down to personal taste between which of those two you prefer. Starting with the chapter black arc, the tone of the story shifted. The characters started feeling like they were burdened by the world, from trauma etc. And part of it is just that everyone was growing up and maturing. It's great writing, I just personally had more fun when the show had a bit more innocent, and the dark tournament was my favorite 👌🏼.

2024-11-15 01:09:35 +0000 UTCThere's so many great ones that I feel like no one is saying. The Kyoto arc from Rurouni Kenshin is incredible. The Anti-spiral arc from Gurren Lagann was fantastic even if some of the big moments towards the end were silly like drowning in space as though it was water somehow lol. Someone did mention these, but YYH Dark Tournament and Chapter Black were both ridiculously good.

2024-11-15 00:07:49 +0000 UTCThere are a lot of great anime arcs, but I'm mostly manga reader; Bleach Soul Society/Rukia rescue arc, Naruto Pain arc and OP Wano are definitely on the top, HxH has few good arcs like CA and Phantom Troupe arcs. And there's definitely tons of smaller anime arcs that I just can't think of right now.

It's The Phantom Troupe Arc (the one with the auction) because Kurapika is one of my favorite characters ever and seeing him finally get a win over the Phantom Troupe was very satisfying. The Heavens Arena Arc is a very close second, though. Some might disagree with me because of Kurapika's motivations being heavily revenge based. While I agree with that sentiment, it's very understandable as to why he'd want to get back at them and he's such an entertaining and fascinating character that I want to see him win.

2024-11-14 23:51:38 +0000 UTCIf we're just talking the anime, then the Egghead arc in One Piece is definitely becoming one of my favorites over Wholecake (I loved both in the manga so to see them animated is fun). The Frieza/Namek arc in DBZ is a nostalgic favorite of mine. But tbf I actually don't watch a ton of anime, I'm not a weeb.

2024-11-14 23:45:51 +0000 UTCThis is mostly nostalgia but the chunnin exams still hold a special place in my heart and I could watch gaara vs lee anytime. Note I'm heavily biased since naruto was what I grew up with so it's hardwired into me. If I'm not going by nostalgia it would be kengan ashura, the kengan annihilation tournament was incredible especially in the manga.
