I agree on Yujiro's sub voice blowing the dub out if the water here; although I also think most of the voices for this arc work better in dub, or at least on par. For example I LOVE Baki's English VA actually sounding like a cool 17 year old, or the MASSIVE upgrade to Retsu and Doppo's voices.

2024-09-19 20:36:31 +0000 UTCI watched the sub first, and I do prefer most of the Japanese voices, but to me Yujiro's voice is better in the dub. And Doppo's English voice is the best voice in Baki to me by far, in both the sub and the dub.

Growing up watching dubs for shows like Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha and DBZ I tend to prefer the english dub even though some of the voices are rather meh. But since I watch mainly subs these days I tend to prefer them even though the quality of dubs have improved greatly in the last couple decades.

Granted, none of them compare to Orochi's english VA who is absolute peak

His Japanese voice actor is the voice as All for One from My Hero Academia, Blackbeard from One Piece and Rider/Iskander from Fate/Zero. He does the perfect job of being loud and arrogant.
