I just discovered there is yet even more Baki content at Netflix that I wasn't aware of. Apparently, there are two seasons of "Baki Hanma" that follow what we are now watching, so it was far too early to post nominations to replace it.
I'm gonna continue crossing my fingers that the quality of the writing picks up as we go, but we'll see. ๐
Sorry about the screwup... I'll get the nominations posted again, as soon as we get to the second season of "Baki Hanma".

Not particularly, but they do stop running with the awkward romance and character relationships and just stick to more outright violence and 1 v 1's, thats basically what makes the show fun is that its a turn your brain off and enjoy the punching kind of series, and to its credit it is fully aware of this

The fights keep getting more and more over the top and ridiculous. So no, the quality of the writing doesn't really pick up at all, but thankfully it doesn't matter as much either.

But their is NO rooting interest in any of them for me, other than rooting for some well done violence, because the lack of any competent writing prevents me from feeling a connection to any of the characters... I genuinely can't imagine anyone not having at least a bit of a "hang-up with the writing", considering how bad it is.

It's understandable though it's bad but honestly I loved baki because it's so over the top and ridiculous it became goofy to me. Idk I just enjoyed it for the absolute absurdity and spectacle. It was kinda a refreshing watch for me ๐

2024-09-17 16:14:15 +0000 UTCYup, I mentioned it when Apothecary Diaries interrupted Sunny, that it was just a quick series that was filling in to give people a little more variety, but Sunny would pick right up again when AD was done... There may be short series inserted between seasons of longer shows at the $1 level here and there.
