Part One

Derek hadn't had a physical in over three years. He kept in good shape and was young enough, so he hadn't worried about getting one, till recently…

For the last two weeks, he'd been battling what he thought to be a stomach bug. Healthy as he was, he just couldn't kick it. Finally, he called his doctor's office and made an appointment but per usual, even there, he couldn't disconnect from work.

“Yes, Jameson is working on the contracts now. I need you to follow up with him first thing in the morning,” he said, tight-lipped into his earpiece as his primary care physician, Dr. Linbrook, examined his neck.

As he talked and was tended to, Derek scrolled through emails on his phone. He'd yet to hear back from Meadows, a potential new client, and was starting to get anxious. He thought the presentation he'd given had gone really well, but still nothing. Not yet, anyway. Shit… Derek needed this guy!

Dr. Linbrook removed his hands, lowered them to his sides and cleared his throat. “Might I trouble you for a moment of you attention, Mr. Carter?” He asked with just north of a hint of sarcasm.

Derek nodded at him as he took his finger from his phone and held it up. “Peter. Peter, stop! Jesus! I have to call you back,” he said as he moved his finger to his earpiece and ended the call.

Once he'd removed and pocketed the device, he looked back at Linbrook and smiled, finally giving the physician, who'd been kind enough to squeeze him in between other appointments, his full attention.

“I'm all yours.”

Linbrook didn't seem too appreciative. “Thank you…” he sighed. “Obviously, you're a busy man, so I'll try to be brief.”

“I appreciate that,” Derek smiled again.

Mostly, all seems well, however, some of your blood work with unusual levels. That and you've gained fifteen pounds since I last saw you,” he concluded with another sigh as he raised his brows, waiting for an explanation or excuse for the latter bit of information.

Come on, doc! Fifteen pounds in three years? Sue me!” Derek chuckled. At the same time, he wrinkled his nose as he thought about how everyone, himself also apparently included, seemed to be getting fatter. “It's come on recently,” he reluctantly admitted. “But it's just holiday weight… Nothing a couple weeks of hard workouts at the gym won't fix,” he shrugged.

As he did, Derek wondered how and when he'd find time to kill it at the gym? Things were crazy at work, with no end to the madness in sight… As he pondered, he absent-mindedly rubbed his chest. As soon as he started to, Linbrook gave him a curious, extra scrutinizing look.

“There's one more test I'd like to run,” the doctor suddenly decided.

Before he could stop himself, Derek sighed and rolled his eyes. “How long will this one take?” He asked as he already turned his attention back to his phone.

Fortunately, administering the rest was quick. Unfortunately, waiting for the results took over an hour, during which Derek not so patiently paced the waiting room. By the time he was brought back by another nurse to be seen by Linbrook again, he was on a three-day call that the doctor didn't wait for him to finish before delivering some… intriguing news.

“You're pregnant, Derek,” he informed, not bothering to throw in any form of “congratulations.

“Pregnant? Who's pregnant?! You didn't tell me you were fuckin’ anyone, you dog!” Meadows said in Derek's ear.

Yes, he'd finally called, and now, Derek had to end it. After quickly and awkwardly excusing himself, Derek pocketed his earpiece again then turned to the doctor.

For the next several seconds, he just stared at him blankly. Eventually, he let out a grunt and rolled his eyes. “Good one, doc…” he chuckled. “Almost had me there! Now tell me, who put you up to this?” He asked, raising his brows. “I'm sure it's someone from the office, but only my assistant knew I…

Dr. Linbrook cocked his head to the side. He looked genuinely puzzled.

“This isn't a prank, Derek,” he said. “I'm being entirely serious.”

“I like you, Dr. Linbrook, really, I do,” Derek replied. “But in case you somehow failed to notice in all the years you've been seeing me, I'm a…”

“You haven't been in to see me in over three years,” the doctor interjected.

“Because there was no need! Now, there is and you're telling me that I'm pregnant?!” Derek scoffed. “I'm a man, and…

Men can and do get pregnant now, Derek… You're aware of that, right?”

“I'm aware that what? Like TEN guys have gotten…

More than ten. Many more…” Linbrook cut back in. “Cis-gendered males have been getting pregnant for more than two decades now. It's still not common, but it's being considered by the scientific and medical communities as part of humanity's, erm…” he trailed off for a second. “Natural, evolutionary process,” he concluded with a shrug.

“So many more than ten guys have gotten pregnant now?” Derek asked.

“That's correct.”

“But male pregnancy still isn't considered common? I mean obviously it isn't!” He scoffed again.

“Male pregnancy still isn't considered common,” the doctor confirmed. “But more and more men seem to be capable of the condition now, yourself included. If my information is still accurate…” he paused to grab some paperwork off his desk. “You are the forty-third man known to be…”

Pregnant,” Derek finished for him.

“Correct. But rest assured, the scientific and medical fields have really progressed in their understanding of this… unique process, making it now almost entirely safe for a man to carry to term,” Linbrook said. “In fact, there's a medical center here in town that's specially equipped to handle…”

While Derek heard everything else the doctor said, it didn't process. It couldn't… Despite Linbrook insisting he wasn't, Derek still thought for sure he was pranking him, but then he went on to talk about “specially equipped centers” and other medical professionals, who would be better suited treating him going forward.

In short, he was being absolutely serious.

“... so I'd very seriously recommend you schedule an appointment with them as soon as possible,” Linbrook went on. “In the meantime, you should really start considering…”

“I need it out,” Derek cut him off. “Take it out. Take… care of it. Whatever you wanna call it, just do it!

Linbrook sighed. “I understand this is some pretty shocking and surprising news, Derek, but…

No buts!” Derek interrupted again with some seriously adamant head shaking. “I'd like it removed. Now!” He switched to nodding.

The doctor frowned at him. “As I said, we're not equipped to do so here, which is why I referred you to the speciality clinic, where…

Derek stopped processing again. This wasn't happening. It couldn't be…

*****

Derek was starting to feel very self-conscious. As soon as he got home, he'd made an appointment at the clinic Linbrook had referred him to, but it wasn't till the following week. In the meantime, Derek suddenly became acutely aware of how his clothes were now fitting him (or really, not anymore.) He noticed how they curved out and hugged him in places they previously hadn't and he didn't like it.

Maybe he was just imagining it? Maybe this was all just some weird, fucked up fever dream? He wasn't pregnant! He couldn't be!

Derek wouldn't let himself believe it. He just had an… “awkward growth” that needed to be removed. He just needed to have a quick and easy, albeit specialized, medical procedure that only certain doctors could perform, and then everything would be fine again! That's all there was to it!

That being said, it was getting harder for Derek to keep focused at work. All he could do was constantly think about this… misplaced thing inside of him. Why him of all people?! What a damn nightmare!

He kept telling himself he was blowing this out of proportion. Honestly, it was no big deal and it would be easily rectified in the coming days, then everything would be fine again.

Instinctively, Derek walked over to the mini bar in the corner of his office. It was there to entertain clients but from time to time, he indulged when there wasn't anyone to entertain. The present seemed as good a time as any (if not even better) to do so again.

The frazzled exec poured himself a scotch and raised it to his nose. Derek sniffed deeply, enjoying the warm, earthy aroma. Just as he brought the rim of the glass to his mouth, he found himself pressing his lips together in a tight frown. Derek set the drink down on his desk and silently cursed.

Even if he wasn't going to keep the baby, he was pregnant at the moment, and he wasn't a complete monster…

*****

Sometimes Derek would catch the hunky janitor watching him as he worked around the building. The guy was hot and quite handsome despite never smiling, always looking dour, and hardly speaking to anyone. Derek had seen colleagues ask the janitor to perform a task such as cleaning up coffee they'd spilled and the big, brooding guy's response would simply be a long vacant stare before he eventually did what he'd been asked.

The janitor made everyone uncomfortable, Derek most of the time included. He figured he was only kept around because he got the job done and no one was brave enough to fire him. The guy was huge, rugged and heavily muscled, as well as uncomfortably watchful. Honestly, he kind of scared Derek, but at the same time, it was almost just as easy to ignore him.

Derek often took pleasure in doing so, this week in particular…

The evening of his appointment, he was more than ready to leave work. The time had come and he quite literally couldn't wait. Derek was going straight to the clinic from the office in order to fix this mess once and for all. He was Chief Executive Vice President! He couldn't be involved in this kind of crazy nonsense!

Derek threw his blazer over his arm, grabbed his briefcase and headed for the door. As he swung it open, he looked up from his phone just in time to see the janitor standing there, blocking his path.

The corporate exec glared up the few inches the burly maintenance worker had on him. “Out of my way, please,” he requested in a less than polite or professional tone, and an even less questioning one.

Somethin’ wrong?” The janitor asked, voice deep and husky. He didn't seem concerned, rather curious, and maybe even a little… taunting?

There will be if you don't move! I don't have time for this!” Derek huffed.

Time for what?” The janitor asked as he tried but failed to worm his way around him.

As he did, Derek caught sight of the name tag sewn onto his shirt. Matt C. That's right… He always forgot the janitor's name, not that it mattered. It especially didn't now as Derek once again tried to get passed.

Matt caught his blazer-covered forearm in a tight grip, then proceeded to pull the executive in closer, so much so, their bodies roughly bumped. As soon as they did, Derek's breathing became quite shallow.

Damn it!” He groaned, feeling doomed, along with something else that was at least a bit more pleasurable as he looked up into Matt's leering, dark brown eyes. “I have to go!” He insisted, even though he knew he'd already lost the battle that had barely even begun.

Matt knew this too and therefore, easily pushed Derek back into his office. Once he had, he reached back to close the door and lock it behind them. As soon as the lock clicked, his hand found and worked its way down the front of Derek's pants, groping at his already rapidly engorging member. The white-collared man's breath caught as his eyes rolled back and his face heated and flushed.

“You're not going anywhere till I'm done with you,” the blue-collar worker informed. “And I've got plans, so get down and get to work!”

To his credit, Derek did manage to try and resist, for all of a second. At the same time, he did his utmost not to start literally trembling with need…

As he slowly sank to his knees as demanded, Matt reached out and ran his massive, calloused left hand through his hair, messing its perfect styling before releasing his grip and moving behind Derek to push him down onto all fours on the lush, plush rug in front of his desk.

Quickly and easily, the corporate vice president caved like he always did because Matt, the janitor, always had his way with him, whenever he wanted it.

*****

I'm so sorry!” Derek genuinely apologized for one of the few times in his life.

He might've been relatively young, but he was used to people almost always catering to him, not the other way around. That being said, he knew this wasn't one of those times.

“I'm running about an hour late,” he said into his earpiece as he buttoned his shirt, still dripping with sweat following his latest, vigorous session with Matt, that'd ended just moments prior.

As he worked on his underwear, pants and belt, Derek listened. As he did, a frown formed on his flushed face.

What?! No! I can still… Yes, but isn't there… OK,” he groaned. “I'll reschedule. I can do tomorrow, anytime, I swear!” He nodded, even though the receptionist obviously couldn't see him do so. “What?! Next Thursday?! Fine, I'll take it!” He concluded before ending the call to the speciality clinic's office in defeat.

Derek's efforts with his pants and belt were suddenly disrupted… Matt came back up behind him and wrapped his massively muscular arms around him, hands going to his middle where they parted and cupped the low swell of his now undeniably bulging belly. Derek grunted as he pulled away and pushed the other man off him.

“We can't do this anymore!” He shook his head after turning around. “I'm a chief executive vice president! You're fucking maintenance!” He needlessly reminded the both of them, internally grimacing as he did.

Surprisingly, Matt didn't seem to take offense. Instead, he just leered down at Derek like he always did when he was done with him, drinking in and up his disheveled, fucked out state. This time, the look he got made Derek's increasingly bloated stomach churn.

“Just… just clean up in here, will you?” He requested as he finished with his pants and belt. When he didn't get a response, he continued. “Place is a damn mess again, thanks to you!” He huffed before storming out of the office like he always did after Matt was done with him.

Unfortunately now, he wasn't headed for his appointment. He was headed home. Because of Matt, he was going to remain pregnant till next Thursday. Fucking great…

Derek knew he needed to finally end things. He'd known so for some time, but he couldn't bring himself to. Dating or even just hooking up was so challenging for him… As soon as people found out who he was and what he did, it became about what they could get out of it. Not only that, but despite his demeanor, Matt was just… so addictive?! His body and that damn cock of his… Shit!

So as much as he'd come to resent it, which he very, very much had, assuming no one else was around or paying attention, Derek still crumbled whenever the janitor gave him so much as a fleeting glance. As much as he hated it, he simply couldn't resist the other man.

God damn it, he really, really needed a fucking drink!

*****

In the days leading up to his rescheduled appointment, Derek swore he could literally feel himself getting fatter. Everything he owned, right down to his underwear and socks, seemed to be getting tighter by the day.

As such, he spent his time waiting in a constant state of anxious distraction. Derek came to feel like he had a tumor growing inside him… A cancer that he desperately needed to have removed.

His rescheduled appointment couldn't come soon enough.

When the day finally came, Derek made it a point to leave the office over an hour early, even though his doing so royally pissed off a lot of his “grunts,” and landed him in some hot water with a few of his investors. He had no choice though… This had to be done.

As a literal investor, Derek also had to invest in himself, after all. Being unavailable to others for one afternoon and some of the following morning, was much more reasonable than the other option…

When he pulled up to the address associated with the clinic, Derek was somewhat surprised to find it located in the hospital. After he parked and made his way inside, he sat particularly stiffly in a chair in the waiting room when he realized he was surrounded by pregnant women, who were also waiting to be seen. A few other men dotted the room, but they all seemed to be there to accompany their presumed spouses.

Everyone kept eyeing Derek, who was sitting there by himself. Even though he didn't have much to hide, he picked his briefcase up off the ground and set it upright on his lap. Thankfully, after today, Derek wouldn't have to worry about potentially looking pregnant ever again.

The anxious, thirty-three year old executive didn't realize he'd been holding his breath till his name was called by a nurse, and he was taken back to see the specialist Dr. Linbrook had referred him to. Derek followed the nurse down a hall and into an exam room, where she had him sit on the foot of the bed as she took his vitals and asked him a series of questions.

Age?

 “Thirty-three.”

Any known allergies?

 “No.”

Several more invasive and much more embarrassing questions followed:

Date of last sexual intercourse?”

 “Nausea or vomiting?”

 “Recent weight gain?”

 “Any nipple sensitivity?

Derek answered each question in turn, feeling like he died a little more inside after each one. When the nurse finished with her queries, she left the room. After what felt like hours, there was a knock on the door.

A doctor who didn't bother to introduce himself, but whose name tag read, “Dr. Porter,” entered the room. He was barely in when Derek started in on him.

“My primary doctor told me this was a specialized clinic?” He groused as Porter logged into the computer next to the bed.

“It is,” he confirmed as he typed.

For men,” Derek clarified. “The waiting room was full of women!”

“We do specialize in men, but we can't just focus exclusively on male pregnancy,” Dr. Porter explained. “It just wouldn't be viable considering you're only the twenty-second known case in the country.”

Derek suddenly felt nauseous. He swallowed. “I thought I was the forty…”

“You're referencing global statistics, which would officially make you the forty-sixth case, though it's likely there are more,” the doctor replied. “We know some countries have been hesitant to report on this sort of thing, and others simply outright deny its existence. Then, there are the men who might not be aware of their condition, or go to great lengths to hide it. The variables are infinite, but if I had to guess, I'd say the numbers globally are in the few hundreds, but still quite low comparatively speaking.”

Derek couldn't deny all that made sense. Whatever number he was officially or unofficially, didn't matter because soon, he wouldn't be part of them anymore.

“The world is changing, Mr. Carter,” Porter continued in a rather perfunctory tone. “In my opinion, this evolution of the male body is quite historical! We're living in a very exciting time!”

Oh, it's thrilling!” Derek grunted back, sounding notably less enthused.

“Now I see that Dr. Linbrook sent over the results of your bloodwork, which are helpful, but I'd still like to do a full exam and…”

Why?” The anxious executive cut in. “I'm here for an abortion.”

Dr. Porter turned from the console and looked at Derek, his eyes shifting from his serious and flustered face, down to his torso.

I see,” he said carefully. “But even if this is an abortion consultation, I still need to perform a full exam, especially in your case, you being a…”

Pregnant man?” Derek correctly guessed with a roll of his eyes, hating what he'd just admitted to being.

“Correct. Seeing as your condition is still considered exceedingly rare, we have to ensure we cross all our T's and dot all our I's. I'm sure you understand?

Sure,” he replied stiffly as Porter opened a drawer and pulled out a pair of gloves.

“Now please, take off your shirt and unbutton your pants, then lay back for me,” the doctor requested.

Derek did as asked. He grimaced and looked away as Porter placed his right hand on his abdomen, cupping the small but firm bulge that now resided there. Even though he'd officially been deemed a “case” now, Derek still couldn't believe male pregnancy was actually a thing? That and the fact that he'd allowed the fucking hunky janitor at work to knock him up. Of all people!

After some time, Porter moved his exam up to Derek's chest. As soon as he touched it, the pregnant man found himself shivering, startled by the increased sensitivity he now felt there.

Sorry,” Porter apologized as he quickly finished up “up top.” “Now, I need to perform a sonogram, which yes, is medically necessary in order for us to potentially proceed,” he was quick to inform before Derek had the chance to question or protest.

The young executive squeezed his eyes shut and held his temples in his left hand. “Fine,” he consented, just wanting to get all of this over and done with.

“It'll just be a moment before we're ready to begin,” Porter said as he went over to the phone on the wall to call a nurse in to assist.

*****

“I'm very sorry, Mr. Carter, but you're past the point when we can legally terminate the pregnancy,” Porter informed him with a shake of his head. “In this state, the cut off is fifteen weeks, which I believe you to have hit a day or two ago.”

Derek was aghast. He couldn't believe it?! “I missed the cut off by a… a day or two?!” He asked, fighting to keep it together.

Unfortunately. Now…

Wait! You just said in this state… Does that mean I can go somewhere else?” He asked, quickly sitting up.

Porter sighed. “There is one state that allows abortion in males up to twenty weeks, but it's all the way across country, and I'm afraid you might have some difficulty flying? Since your condition is so rare, most airlines won't allow you to fly.”

“Well thankfully, I can afford to charter a jet if I have to!” Derek huffed as he began wiping the gel Porter had coated his abdomen with off with a towel he'd snatched from him. “I'm sure it'll cost me a fucking fortune, but if I have to, I'll pay it!” He said as he jerked his shirt down and tucked it back into his pants after hastily stepping off the bed.

“Well before you go and make any travel plans, there's something else I need to tell you…”

Yes?” He sighed as he fastened his belt, noting he'd already out two notches from where he used to fasten it.

“Your sonogram showed that you're not carrying just a single fetus… You're carrying three. Triplets,” Dr. Porter informed with a small smile.

What?!”

He nodded. “Congratulations are in order, because this is the first time a multiples’ pregnancy has been reported in a male, making your condition even more extraordinary!

Derek had heard enough. Horrifying as this new piece of information was, it didn't matter other than to give him more reason to do whatever he needed to to end the pregnancy. How and why he'd ended up in this situation was beyond him…

Unsurprisingly, he didn't sleep that night, too anxious and disturbed by what he'd become. Not only was he pregnant, he was pregnant with three fucking babies! Three! Triplets, inside him! He was now four people in one. Well, technically, not yet, but much more importantly: not ever.

That simply wasn't going to happen. Derek was going to get rid of them. How had this happened? It was just so weird…

There had to be something wrong with him? Maybe he'd consumed something, or been exposed to some sort of weird chemical or radiation? This just wasn't natural.

Derek tried but failed to stop constantly thinking about it.

In the morning, exhausted as he was from his lack of sleep, he managed to clear one of his upcoming weekends. Derek's schedule was so packed, it ended up being just over a month before he was able to take time away from work and even then, he wouldn't fully be able to… There were some meetings he just couldn't get rid of, so he'd have to change them to conference calls.

This wasn't the level of service he typically provided, so some of the investors would probably be all over him for cutting corners. It was quite possible he might end up losing an account or two if people got pissy enough, but it had to be done. The company was growing and Derek intended to keep it that way.

If making sure he didn't have to physically grow along with it meant he'd have to risk losing some business, then so be it. He was willing to allow that to happen because taking care of his “issue” once and for all would be best for everyone. Well, not exactly everyone…

Successful as he was, Derek was young to be in his position. As such, people were always on the lookout for weakness and/or waiting for him to make a mistake, especially the next up and comers… Derek was excellent at what he did, but knew he could and would be replaced the instant he screwed up big or bad enough, so he was determined not to.

This pressure only added to the nightmare. Physically, it was added to by the fact that Derek just kept getting bigger and bigger with fucking triplets. Jesus!

It wasn't long before none of his button downs fit, but he refused to buy any bigger ones. As a result, Derek looked sloppy as his belly started to bulge out and really strain against the buttons of his shirts, leaving him with no choice but to cave and have his assistant, Tammy, buy him some bigger and looser ones.

Tammy wasn't the greatest assistant, but one of her pros was the fact she rarely asked questions. Because the shirts she got for him weren't custom made like the ones Derek usually wore, they were long and baggy in some places, but short and tight in others. Derek hated them, but at least he'd only have to wear them for a few weeks, then he could return to his more fashionable and properly fitting wardrobe.

The day before Derek was to take his trip, he noticed that some of his colleagues were giving him strange looks. One of them, Perkins, finally commented on Derek's now notable weight gain, but of course he did, the audacious prick…

Honestly, Derek couldn't blame him though. His physical changes were really starting to become more obvious, not to mention, odd. Considering how much he hated the way his body looked and felt, the expectant vice president found himself rather emotionally shattered.

As such, he practically begged for it whenever he and Matt were alone. Getting fucked, the very thing that'd gotten him into this unusual (to say the least!) situation, was now some sick sort of consolation prize for having made it this far without having gone entirely insane.

This time, Derek let Matt fuck him as he leaned over his desk, gripping its sides tight as he released a grunt every time the other man thrust into him hard and fast. Reaching down and around, Matt's large, calloused right hand took hold of the executive's hard dick while his left curiously held and cradled his growing belly. Derek's babies-filled belly, which had grown to be all round and firm.

It was all so grotesque and wrong.

When his desk phone rang, Derek ignored it. He closed his eyes and tried to relish in Matt fucking him again, but the ringing wouldn't stop and his voicemail refused to pick up. Annoyed, Derek reached out and grabbed the receiver in his shaking left hand.

W-what?” He practically moaned into it, right as the janitor came deep inside of him.

As he did, the thirty-three year old exec swore he felt the already present tension within him growing. Despite his best efforts, Derek released an undignified grunt as Matt's hand clamped down hard against his belly. Derek's legs threatened to give out as his bloated abdomen shuddered.

All the while, Rogers rambled on and on on the other end of the line, sounding desperate. Apparently, they were about to lose a major account thanks to some system error. Pertinent, proprietary information had been lost and now, their jobs might follow.

OK, OK,” Derek managed, nearly collapsing atop his desk as Matt pulled out. “Oooh! Uh… We can…  We can fix this.

How?!” Rogers shrieked.

“I'm still at the… office. Just lemme… log back in. Send me all the… information you have,” Derek breathlessly said as he scrambled to pull his underwear and pants back up and his shirt down.

Derek ended up at the office for the rest of the night, frantically working away on his computer. As he did, he fidgeted constantly and occasionally scratched at his gut. All the pregnancy symptoms were getting harder to ignore. Aside from the now obvious swelling and the nausea he still sometimes experienced, there was also now a chronic hunger for food and sex that often left the young executive flustered and distracted. Derek felt like he was losing control and he hated it.

His stomach grumbled loudly. Again. He seemed to always be hungry now but unfortunately, he'd already eaten all the snacks he'd come to stash in his nearest drawer. Derek's plan had been to go home after work, pack and try to relax, not spend all night piecing together a fractured client file, but thankfully, he was almost done. He'd almost cleaned up one mess, only to add to his own in the process.

Derek figured everyone else had gone home by then, but he was wrong. Matt was there. Had he been there the whole time or left and come back? It didn't matter…

Derek looked at him, shook his head and rolled his eyes before returning them to his monitor. He didn't have time for this, for him, not now. Not ever again, really… He needed to finish up and go home, so he was about to tell Matt to pass off when he heard a light clink and looked over to see the other man had placed a glass filled with what looked to be a milkshake on his desk. Derek started salivating at the sight of it.

He was simultaneously hungry and thirsty, not to mention craving something sweet. A milkshake fit all three requirements. How ironic…

“Figured you could use a lil’ something,” Matt said before turning to leave.

“Thanks,” Derek said as he lifted the glass and took a long suck from the straw.

He wasn't disappointed. Wherever Matt had gotten it from, the shake tasted great. The janitor didn't say anything as he left the office, which was fine by Derek.

It was just another strange interaction between the two of them, but at least he was grateful for it. Now at least he didn't have to worry about finding sustenance… Derek could just (try to) focus on his work, which he did one handed, his other hand holding the shake he was rapidly sucking down.

His phone rang again. After setting the shake down with a sigh, Derek hit the speakerphone button.

“Rogers. Thanks for getting back to me. I need you to send me PDF copies of Snyder's last quarterly rate and then we can…”

He lost himself in his work again. It wasn't till sunlight began peeking in through the blinds that Derek was able to tear his gaze from his monitor.

As he “came to” and looked around his desk, he was surprised to see he'd consumed three more shakes… He hadn't even noticed their arrival and didn't even remember drinking them. Derek palmed his belly, rubbing its undeniable fullness as a large and loud belch suddenly shot up and out of his cream-coated throat.

Ooof!” He groaned. “I've gotta get outta here!” He said as he stood and started cleaning up the papers littering his desk, shoving them into his briefcase.

Derek had just finished packing his laptop and pulling on his blazer when Rogers showed up. He looked as troubled and exhausted as Derek imagined he did. They'd worked all night, after all…

What're you doing?! Where are you going?!” Rogers asked, face and voice clearly panicked. “You can't leave now! We're not finished going through the charts!

“I know, but you're gonna have to handle the rest,” Derek said.

He'd managed to find a commercial flight on an airline willing to accept him as a passenger despite his condition, and it left in an hour. He might still be able to catch it if he went directly to the airport, not stopping at home for the shower and change of clothes he so desperately needed.

“I'll get the Wi-Fi on my flight and we can text and email, then I'll call as soon as I land,” he promised. “You've got this man,” he nodded encouragingly.

No, I don't!” Rogers scoffed. “Our jobs are on the line and you're leaving to go on vacation?!

“Believe me, it's not a vacation… It's a necessary trip. Family emergency,” Derek explained. “But I'll continue to help as best I can,” he said as he squeezed his way around his frazzled co-worker and headed for the elevator.

He let out a huge sigh of relief as the doors started to close. He checked his phone and confirmed there was a car waiting for him outside. He could still make it.

Or not.

Suddenly, a large hand reached in, keeping the doors from shutting and sending them sliding all the way back open. It was Matt.

The rugged man stepped into the car and came to stand next to Derek as the doors finally slid shut. He didn't look at him.

For a moment, the executive vice president considered thanking the maintenance worker for the shakes again, but decided against it. He was too infuriated with him, despite his clear addiction to the janitor's big, talented and overly fertile member. Derek felt a little sad he'd never get to see or experience again because in a fucked up way, what they'd been doing had been quite fun while it lasted, but it could never happen again.

All of a sudden, Matt extended his long arm and pushed the elevator's emergency stop button, causing it to come to a gentle but rapid halt. Derek looked up at him in surprise as he wobbled some on his feet, taken off guard.

“You're cuttin’ it awful close…

What're you talking about?” Derek asked as he reached out to restart the elevator, only to have his hand smacked away.

“Twenty weeks.”

Fuck. Matt knew he was pregnant.

Sure, it was getting easier to assume, but how the hell did he know exactly how far along he was?! Derek was shook for a minute.

Yeah, close, but still doable,” he finally said.

“You're not getting an abortion,” Matt said, finally turning to meet Derek's puzzled gaze with his cold eyes.

The hell I'm not! My body, my choice!” Derek shouted, internally wincing because he hated how he sounded referring to himself like that.

Sure, it's your choice, but I think you'll find you choose to agree with me.

What the fuck are you talking about?!” He scoffed. “I…

“If you choose to get an abortion,” Matt cut in. “Then I'll have to choose to tell your boss how you skimmed those client accounts three years ago. Wasn't that just before your big promotion?” He asked, raising his brows. “Either way, I guess it wasn't enough since you also chose to go ahead and give yourself a nice, big bonus on top!”

How the fuck does he know that? Derek wondered. I was so careful! He said to himself as he felt his face redden and heat up in fury.

Are you trying to blackmail me?!

“I am blackmailing you,” Matt replied.

Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck.

You sick fuck!” Derek exhaled as the weight of Matt's threat sunk in. His voice started to break as he said, “I… I have to get rid of it! Of them!

Them..?

Fuck. He shouldn't have said that…

“Three,” he nodded. “I don't want them,” he shook his head. “This… pregnancy and three kids will totally fuck up my career!” He went back to nodding. “It'll fuck up my whole life!” He groaned.

So would losing your job, so your choice,” the janitor replied.

But Derek didn't have a choice. He suddenly knew what he had to do as he slumped back against the wall in defeat. Regardless of what “choice” he made, something was going to get ruined. The only choice he had was what?

What the fuck?!” He whispered as in his periphery, Derek saw Matt reach out and press the button to get the elevator moving again.

*****

Derek was in shock. Shock and denial.

He spent the rest of the day at home, ignoring Rogers’ repeated calls and emails. He sat on the couch, staring blankly at the TV, which wasn't even on.

Before he knew it, morning had turned to evening and was steadily advancing towards midnight. Mentally and physically exhausted as Derek was, he couldn't sleep.

Nineteen weeks and six days slowly turned to twenty full weeks of pregnancy. He was too late. He'd made his choice.

Ot maybe not?

If he didn't worry about Matt and his blackmailing for the time being, maybe Derek could find another way? Maybe he could do some quick research and find another state to have the abortion performed in? Another country, even?

But what good would that do?

Even if he found someone, somewhere willing to perform the abortion, legally or otherwise, it wouldn't be moral… Twenty weeks put Derek at halfway through the pregnancy. The triplets were already “half cooked” so to speak…

Oh God…” he exhaled, feeling nauseous once again as he leaned forward and held his face in his hands.

How had everything gotten so out of control?!

Derek wanted to cry, and he would've had his stomach not chosen that moment to audibly grumble. He was hungry again. Of course he was…

He grabbed his phone, called his favorite Chinese place and placed an order. A big one

Once he had, he sat back on the couch and waited, fidgeting impatiently for no other reason than it was something to do. Derek turned on the TV and did his best to focus on it rather than his literally growing problem.

Already, he felt trapped and completely demoralized. Derek was really good at figuring shit out, but he had no idea how he was going to pull this off?

That fucking piece of shit…” he muttered as he thought about Matt and shook his head.

Derek couldn't believe that a fucking office janitor was blackmailing him?! Not that he'd ever given it much thought (not till then, anyway) but Matt was the last person he saw himself having kids with! Matt didn't seem interested in or capable of anything more than mopping, staring and sneering uncomfortably at people.

Oh yeah, and fucking the absolute hell out of him, and apparently, babies into him!

Who the hell is this guy?” Derek muttered again as he pulled his laptop from his briefcase, opened it and turned it on, and then opened his browser.

He proceeded to perform several searches for “Matt Campbell, janitor” in various forms, but nothing noteworthy came back. When Derek didn't find any social media pages, no online resumés (not that many janitors probably had them,) he logged onto the company database and looked through the employee background checks. Matt's was a “clean,” totally useless and unhelpful slate.

There was nothing on him anywhere, not even an employment history prior to his current gig.

Something was off. More than something… A lot. As such, before he even fully grasped what he was doing, Derek found himself scrolling through his contacts and putting in a call to an associate from his former firm. If anyone could discreetly help him figure out who Matt was, and how he knew what he did, John could.

“John, long time no talk,” Derek quickly started in. “Unfortunately, we've gotta save the catching up for later, ‘cause I need a favor. A big one,” he informed the private investigator.

Fortunately, John Jacobs wasn't big on small talk. He curtly invited Derek to get straight to the point.

“I need you to look into someone for me. Find me everything you know. I haven't brought it up with CorpaCorp yet ‘cause it's not that big of a deal, but that being said, I don't want it to become one.”

“Got it. What's the name?”

“Matt Campbell,” Derek replied. “Matthew, I guess… He's one of the janitors at the office, and…” he paused. The guy who got me pregnant and wants me to stay that way for whatever reason, he added silently to himself before telling John, “He's giving me some personal trouble.”

Personal, or personel?” John asked to be clear.

“Both.”

“I'll look into him,” the private investigator promised.

“Thanks. I owe you.”

John agreed. He and Derek made arrangements to talk again in a week's time before they ended the call, the pregnant man hoping this supposed progress would help policy at least some of his anxiety.

But it didn't yet, maybe because it wasn't actually progress? What was progressing was Derek's predicament…

His belly was now firm and bulging, full and bloated and also felt as if it was pulsing where it sat obtrusively on and against his otherwise still relatively fit frame. Derek knew his anxiety and nerves were probably the cause, yet this strange pulsing was suddenly all he could focus on… His pregnancy was all he could think about. His and Matt's… Fuck!

Ugh…” he groaned, now really, really in need of a drink, but since he was still fucking pregnant, he still couldn't imbibe.

The doorbell rang.

Derek had forgotten about the Chinese till then. At least for the time being, he could bury his mounting woes in consuming it.

All of it, more likely than not.
