No One Remembers
Added 2025-04-12 00:00:15 +0000 UTC“Remember when I was smaller?” Sarah asked Mary on their lunch break. Her lunch box nestled in her cleavage.
“You mean like… in our second year of college? Man, it will be what? Ten years since then?” Mary casually nibbled on a french fry. “You were really flat back then. And to think you didn’t have those boulders to knock me down whenever we met. Sure feels like it was all a lifetime ago.”
“Yeah, it sure does…”
Sarah didn’t have any hopes before asking Mary the same question she had asked a handful of closer friends. She was ready to hear another similar version of what the others said. Yet she couldn’t help but feel a bit crestfallen.
She just wished that someone, anyone, besides her also remembered how she truly was until last week.
