It is connected to what Mob said last episode. Creating the holy tree, the giant broccoli, was not all that big and life changing for him. Joining the body improvement club was. So it is all about the moments of personal growth, discovery and happiness for him, not these minor fights. The yokai king will be forgotten in less than a year, but he may just remember the time where he and his friends focused and did a decent job at the festival.
