2023-04-09 15:47:04 +0000 UTCto kinda give a bit more context behind hijikata and shinpachi's conversation, shinpachi and the rest of the world thought hijikata was killed in the Hakodate war (which was actually a real war which the real hijikata fought in back in the late 1800s) but he was secretly imprisoned for the vast majority of his life which is why when shinpachi discovered he was alive he was extremely pissed at the warden for not telling him given their history in the shinsengumi
