WHO IS A CHARACTER THAT YOU COMPLETELY FLIP-FLOPPED ON?
Added 2023-03-08 18:12:18 +0000 UTCI have really come around to liking Sogo - in Gintama - after not liking hi at all at first. He's becoming one of my favorites!
I'm curious: What characters have you initially disliked or liked, only to come 180 degrees on later?
Hohenheim - from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood - was another one who tricked me! Early on I loathed him, then when he died, I almost started blatting!

2023-03-11 13:01:57 +0000 UTCOn initial watch (or in this case, read of the manga) I definitely agree on Hoenheim. I hated him at first. Then you see not only all he went through before but everything he tried to do during the events of the series (and in the decade before) and continues to do, not asking forgiveness but just trying to atone for something that wasn’t even his fault to begin with. Truly heroic. In hindsight, Light from Death Note. In the first half I still mostly support him, and he’s a great evil protagonist to follow, but I don’t feel bad at all about how it ends for him. By the end of the first episode he’s practically already done all the good he ever does. I do think he’s a tragic figure, but he definitely didn’t deserve the final win.

2023-03-10 06:13:43 +0000 UTCWhen I first started watching Lupin III I thought Fujiko Mine was a real bitch, and she kind of is but that's part of what makes her so fun. The problem is a lot of people don't no how to wright her character and she just comes across annoying. When written correctly she's funny, and cool.

2023-03-09 03:28:59 +0000 UTCI agree with this, mostly. Although in fairness to Yuno, he has magic of royalty(I know they did not know that until much later on) and Asta is using the powers of a Devil which The Clover Kingdom are on a crusade against and of course King Clover, incompetent asshole that he is, believes Asta is as dangerous as Zagred was. The Magic Knights know better and if Julius had his way, Asta would have seen a huge promotion. But the thing is, Asta does not care about the prestige or medallions, he at the core of his being cares about doing the right thing and he'd give life and limb for those he cares about. That is what defines him as a hero, he does shit for the right causes and right reasons, not the accolades or praises from people.

2023-03-09 01:08:19 +0000 UTCI have to say it was Yuno in Black Clover. Even though he has always been good, it would always get to me each time he would get one up on Asta. Whether it was him inheriting a power boost or climbing higher in accomplishments and merit, I just couldn’t stand seeing all of his cool qualities above Asta’s hard work and grind. I would go back and forth between liking him and not liking him because of that reason but in the end, i could never hate the guy because of how much mutual respect him and Asta had for each other.

2023-03-09 00:19:27 +0000 UTCCrocodile. I hated him during Alabasta, but he won me over with how he helped Luffy try to rescue Ace even if it was more so for himself than some change of heart. Still he put himself on the firing line twice when he first saved Ace and then Luffy. Hell he also saved Jimbe as well, without him both Strawhats would be dead. That is a face turn done right with a villain like him. He also still keeps tabs on Luffy and is often amused by his shenanigans. On the other hand, Gohan took a HUGE nosedive after the Cell saga. It made sense he would not train like Vegeta or Tien, but still the narration hypes him up with his "Ultimate" power and the episodes spent getting to that point are undone within the span of an episode and a half. It was like what even was the point of his Ultimate form if its rended useless after its barely even used. It's like Toriyama just made shit up as he went.

2023-03-09 00:18:29 +0000 UTCKabuto, honestly felt kinda bad for him and the reveal of him running an orphanage was heartwarming. He was very annoying tho for most of the series bit I still like where he ended up
2023-03-08 22:23:58 +0000 UTCBlackbeard I kind of enjoyed his character up until what he did with whitebeard (an act I will always resent him for). The second was prince Schniezel I really liked him as a character until well he threw a hissy fit and tried nuking the world.

2023-03-08 22:07:58 +0000 UTCThe one that immediately comes to mind is from an anime you haven't seen, so...I'll just say the little archer girl from season 3 of Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun, and the people who have watched it will know what I'm talking about lol
