Vax started out as an Assassin Rogue, after Vex's death he multi-classed into Paladin. Becoming the Champion of the Raven Queen (the original name before they had to change it due to copyright) the Goddess of Death. Though personally I think Hexblade Warlock would've been a better fit for the deal that Vax struck with the Raven Queen. Unfortunately that particular subclass hadn't become available at that time.

2023-02-24 17:52:54 +0000 UTCKind of also relating to the previous episode, due to being twins Vax and Vex always had a strong bond, but especially because of their dick of a dad I guess you can say they only really relied on each other because they had no one else. This is why when it came to Vax and Keyleth last season, Vex came off as kind of a bitch, nothing too personal against Keyleth but she is protective of her brother as they only have relied on each other for all of their lives and doesn't want him getting hurt. She's defiantly one whose trust is hard to earn, compared to Vax who more easily went along with the group at times than she did at times. Vax as we have seen relies so much on his sister, that he feels totally lost without her, as this episode shows no length he wouldn't go for her. Due to only looking out for each other all their lives, they both have that separation anxiety because they never had to live without one another or share them with someone else.

What this brings with it only time will tell, but it can't hurt to be the champion of the godess of death when you're going up against Ancient Dragons

2023-02-24 16:00:08 +0000 UTCA good DM will want their game to have consequences (the possibility of a player dying should always be a possibility, otherwise there is no tension or excitement). However, especially in the case of long running games, if there is a death the DM may provide a way to bring that player back, after-all, resurrection is a thing in this universe. And so having a convenient NPC cleric around who knows how to resurrect in the vicinity of instant death traps is always nice heh.
