Btw. there were actually multiple more or less subtle hints for the connection between Oboro and Mukuro/Nobume, first of course how much she knew about Oboro(+ the Naraku) and his weapons, second Isaburo mentioned in the Thorny arc that she's an assassin, and last but not least the only other time we saw weird aura-powers like Oboro's was also in the Thorny arc right before Nobume and Sougo started their fight that leveled the whole building(or more specifically Nabume leveled the building and Sougo took in a pretty smart way advantage of that XD). Oh and some interessting trivia about Sougo and Nobume(+ kinda even Kagura), Sougo and Nobume aren't just both the strongest/most skilled fighters of the police forces and have rather similar personalities in some regards(like being both sadists) but both are actually based on the historical person Okita of the real Shinsengumi, Sougo obviously cause he literally is Okita of the Shinsengumi and Nobume cause she with Kagura's umbrella is actually the original design of Gintama's Okita(who is relatively often female in fiction/anime, apparently cause he was known to be quite feminine due to his young age).
