I have such fond memories of Ouran... I'm really glad someone picked it back up. (It's gotten so close in recent polls! Just not close enough.) It was a fun, wacky sort of time from the beginning, but episode 5 was a game changer for me, as far as the series starting to explore the characters deeper goes. So there's a lot of great episodes to come! :)

2023-01-23 01:29:06 +0000 UTCI feel like Shojo shows/slice of life are so criminally underrated within the anime community. For me yeah, i love shonen for the battles and the amazing plot, but shojo also does a great job of exploring the depths of the relationships, be it romantic or friendship and dealing with the day-to-day dramas of life that i think we can relate to in one way or another. It's such a shame because like a lot of Shojo series, they only adapt certain parts of the manga and only make the anime series short. Like typically anywhere from 12-24 episodes, not a lot would usually get second seasons unlike a lot of the shows you're currently watching that well have over 4-5 seasons.

This somehow manages to walk the line of being the ultimate shojo parody while still being sincere enough that you grow to care about the characters.
