I guess it's a form of tough love, Bell's got the childlike drive to be a hero that allows him to progress, but that drive won't keep him alive, he's gotta face the darker sides of gods, humans and monsters to get the experience that'll keep him on the living side of things. Also, as peeps have pointed out, there's a very good reason why Hestia unleashing her godly power inside the Dungeon is big whoopsie. Gods aren't allowed inside the Dungeon as a rule to begin with, the Dungeon can't stand gods inside its walls, and whats happening right now is, as the kids would say, finding out after fucking around
