I mean, every character is a sex object in this show. I think what you mean to say is that they are more independent. That makes sense though. Gintama is more mature of a show. Other shounen are directed at young boys. Ever read a Shoujo series? The boys in those manga are more sexualized and predictable than any female character could ever hope to be.

2022-10-24 16:04:01 +0000 UTCI love how they made the opening into a 2nd Grader’s artwork and all the while they have the numbers being put up on the ending. Also it was definitely a smarter strategy for the girls to have Tsukyu join them rather than fighting against her. She’d likely overpowered all 3 of them. That’s something I grown to appreciate about Gintama; is how well the women characters are presented, they’re not just standing around doing nothing. Each has their own role to fill within the show and they’re not there as sex objects (although Sacchan doesn’t mind that) but they all contribute to the storylines in their own matter.
