Gauche is one of those characters that no matter what, you will get a bad impression on due to his sister complex and his initial reaction to Asta meeting his sister along with a lot that goes on in this arc. I mean I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that his sister complex is not sexual in nature despite his nose bleeds which other anime usually use to show one character is sexually attracted to another. Of course, the reason I can give him this benefit of the doubt is because I doubt the author really wants us to dislike this character who is part of the main cast and will likely be a mainstay since he's a member of the Black Bulls. I can't blame people for disliking him right now since his only redeeming quality is loving his sister...

Granted they need to manage to somehow overcome his crush on Sister Lily aka Ms. Unobtainable. I have such a hate/love take on Gauche. I trusted he was a decent guy at heart since I felt Yami is an excellent judge of character aka when he was the only one to give Asta the benefit of the doubt during the try outs.
