But thank god the dragon wasn't like the black knight after its arm was off otherwise this would have been a much harder fight. Also, the military in question in this show is the JSDF which is the Japan Self Defense Force, so it's kinda similar to our national guard. And while I understand that they seem a bit over competent to some, I'd like to believe rather than looking at it that way, the way I look at it is that this is kinda how a defense force should be in their efforts for the people and humane characteristics on display (though I haven't read the source stuff so maybe I'm off on that).

Being an envoy of a god of war, you usually expect to get an antagonistic character, its a breath of fresh air to see someone who employs violence but isn't an scumbag by default because of it. And she isn't just your classic anime cutesy girl, she genuinely shows her age sometimes. Plus, her god's doctrine is interesting too, but that all will be revealed later, no need to go into details for the moment. Also, kudos to the designers for showcasing a 'realistic' depiction of a dragon. Generally, theres no such thing as a dragon that could actually fly realistically, but usually in media they're portrayed having comically small wings, this one actually looks anatomically reasonable
