State of affairs

I'm not dead, though i wouldn't blame you if you thought i was.

But let's be serious, it's way overdue explaining what is going on and how it will be fixed.

To make it short, last week i received officially the notification of termination of my dayjob. You see, my dayjob was on the verge of bankruptcy for a while, and it looked like it was coming any day now, which caused my dayjob to treat me like a slave with no extra pay. And now we finally have a date. This month will be the last of my dayjob.

That means, starting next month i will be officially unemployed(if i don't find a new dayjob by that time)

There are three ways this can end:

1. I will first be unemployed and get welfare for a while, that means i will have a LOT more free time. Meaning, i will be able to draw what i missed the last few months. And i will use this as my last chance(!) to get independent with my drawings.

2. I will get a minijob(here in germany it means a job with less than 15 hours a week), meaning i will have a LOT more free time as well.(Basically my current dayjob was also a minijob, but as they treated me like a slave, i had to work a lot more than 15 hours a week). If it were come to that, if the minijob will become permanent, i will do that new dayjob and this patreon(plus maybe some other stuff like commissions or something like that). It would be like before, but with a MUCH higher chance of getting drawings done on time.

3. I will get a proper job. If it were come to that, i will probably close down this patreon(of course, not before finishing the drawings i missed the last couple months!!) but yeah, having a real 40hour/week job + patreon is impossible.

So what are the chances of any of these happening? Basically 33% for all of them. I don't care which will happen. I don't care about leeching off the government, i don't care about continuing the way like before but better and i don't care about getting a proper job, because the last 13 years i was living with only the bare minimum of luxury, thus having a proper job would mean i would finally have some money to buy stuff, like, clothes wihtout holes in them, a new videogame instead of having to wait 10 years until it becomes cheap for me to buy, going to the cinema to see the latest movie along with everyone else, food etc.

So this is what happened and might happen.

This last month will obviously be very busy as well. I wish i could say i will be able to finish some stuff, but i can't(i will try though...like the last two months). Not only do i still have to do this slave-work for one month, but at the same time i will have to deal with being unemployed next month.

I am sorry to hear that you are going through some rough times Kibate. I agree with the other sentiments here that while I would miss your Patreon channel, I hope that you will find full time employment.

Scott Miller

Good luck. Sorry it has come to this, but good thing you clearly know your options. Not many do. Rooting for you whichever route you take.

Kenshin Hikigane

I was gonna ping you a message today to make sure you were ok, so good timing! Obviously I'd love to see more work from you, but I think if you can get option (3) that would be best for you. I work full time and get just enough time to work on my writing for my own please, but not enough time to do paid-for content - I'd be constantly over time and it'd stress me.

Drunlade

Damn. I'm really sorry to hear it has come to this. I hope you'll be able to pick things back up soon. :(
