That standoff between Balalaika and Revy was extremely cool! That could have gone badly in a lot of different ways!

Yea, I disagree. While Balalaika had a MUCH cooler facade, I think she is the ultimate strategist and decided a confrontation was not a positive risk/reward.

I don't think Balalaika put her gun away as a "discretion is the better part of valour" sort of thing. The way she was talking to Revy, pushing her buttons about Revy ever living a normal life. I feel like she had them both exactly where she wanted them. It's only because Rock threw her a curveball that it didn't turn into a shootout. I'm sure she was aware of the risks, but I'm fairly certain she was prepared to face them. She was perfectly calm, while Revy was as close to panicking as we've ever seen her. If it came to a gunfight, I'm fairly certain Balalaika was relying on that fact.

Telling Balalaika to give up a hunt half-way through is like telling a hungry dog to eat a salad instead of a nice juicy steak, not going to happen. And you'll get your hand bitten off if you try and force it.
