First he looses his wife and now his son. He really doesn't know how to grieve well and is only doing it by drowning his sorrows in booze. Trust me I know that feeling. I wanted to do the same when the love of my life passed away. However unlike him, I didn't. I remember my whole kids and grandkids were depressed for a whole week until I had had enough of it. So I gathered them all up one day and literally said word for word from what he said. "The funeral is over kids! Get that gloomy look off your faces!" They all looked at me weird and some even angrily. But I said, "what? Don't you think I know the pain your going through? I am believe me. But life continues! With or without your mom/grandma! You think she'd want you like this!? Move on! You still got me here and it breaks my heart seeing you drowning in despair! So get out of here and move on!" I honestly didn't say it to hurt them but to help them. However, like and unlike Kyojuro's father, I drowned myself in my work. From time to time though I would simply cry for a few minutes. So please lad don't be to harsh on him. His tears proved that he loved Kyojuro very much
