Ah if you didn't catch on rocks boss engineered the whole scheme against his company on the dl.he hired hotel moscow to steal the disk knowing he'd be put in charge of recovering it sending the eo company mercs after it to maintain appearances knowing that hed be richly rewarded within the company no matter how he made the disk disappear and as he wished to scare the company away from helping in the development of nukes for said war torn country . Its a fun parallel that rock and him are similarly cut from the same cloth and yet in the end you see he isn't truly happy while rock is despite him winning and rock failing at succeeding in moving up in the corporate world the way many Japanese men are taught from early on is the key to a good life.
