I always interpreted it as meaning "The only reason I'm not going to kill you right now is because of Saber's honor"

2022-01-27 03:36:25 +0000 UTCSomething occurred to me after seeing this that didn't before: Lancer said that the only reason Kiritsugu survived was because of Saber's honor, which is honestly debatable. If Saber had decided to fight him and stop him from saving Kayneth, Kiritsugu would've killed him and Lancer would've lost his master. Ordinarily, this would mean a loss of his mana supply, which would result in him being immediately weakened and fading away shortly thereafter, since he's not an Archer and doesn't have Independent Action. Lancer's situation is a bit weird due to having Sola Ui as a second mana supply, but if I understand how that works properly, when Kayneth dies he takes his command seals with him, which are the only things binding Lancer to him. If all this is true, then Lancer is wrong and the only reason he's still around is because Kiritsugu A) failed to kill Kayneth with those two Origin Bullets and B) was too slow on the draw with his finisher.
