FRENCH SURRENDER! - Kaguya Sama #4

I love the idea of surviving the worst possible verbal attack by unknowingly agreeing with everything cause you have no idea what's going on.

France also has a fun history with Anime: it was mainly brought by Dorothé in the "Club Dorothé" in the 90s. But since it was basicaly cartoon from oversea people thought it would be for children so we ended up with things like Hokuto no Ken, City Hunter. The violence in those was kind of toned down by the voice actors going on strike (because we are french, there's always a strike somewhere) until they had more freedom to make the shows more kid-friendly, it led to greats dubs where the goal was to make silly voices (with the wonderful Maurice Sarfati) and completely new oppenings (by Bernard Minet). There even was a time when french politician Segolène Royal tried to ban anime because it was corrupting the youth or some shit like that.

France is huge into manga, there's a lot of series there that sell millions of copies, France has a thriving graphic novel industry as well, French comics are called Bandes dessinées, a lot of them are gorgeously drawn, you get everything from series like elric of melnibone, to Micky Mouse. Since comics thrive in both Japan and France they hit off with each other pretty well, their trends and visual styles for comics and animation have even inspired each other.
