I have been binging your episodes for a while today, and I noticed that on an earlier episode they ended with Kaido screaming and zooming into his eye, which turned reptilian. I chose to believe that it was a foreshadow.

Everyone in the vicinity is drop dead terrified and the only reason Luffy is acting all defiant is because he cannot comprehend the power Kaido possesses. If there was EVER a time to not be foolhardy this would be the quintessential time for that. But I also gotta say, mad props to that old lady. In the words of Negan from The Walking Dead: "You got some beachball sized lady nuts!"

I think the only way looks can be misleading with Kaido is if they ever show him as LESS dangerous than he actually is

I'm usually not someone who harps on the differences between the manga and the anime, as i don't really follow the manga. But this is the only exception for me, in the manga you don't actually see the scene with Kaido transforming first, there's just this giant fucking dragon that comes down from the sky and Law's like "yea THAT'S Kaido" and it's such a bigger shock than seeing him drunkenly transform. Still a terrifying look nonetheless, really makes you doubt Luffy and co have any amount of chance against him

Looks like Shenron jumped anime while waiting for Goku to collect the Dragon Balls. But in all seriousness, Kaido with the Dragon devil fruit just made him 3x more intimidating.
