White Faced Mask means heaven, while The Red Demon Face means Hell. If we're going by traditional representations of the two places. As others have mentioned the pair this episode will both be reincarnated. While the pair last time, the Wife went to hell (wrongly depending on who you ask) or rather the void, while the Husband got to be reincarnated. Though that was due to the Wife's intervention out of love for him.

2021-10-18 17:26:10 +0000 UTCi forgot how both depressing and funny this anime can be lol also, the left (blue) elevator is where people go to get reincarnated and the right (red) elevator is where people get sent to the void so basically Mai got sent to be reincarnated and Shigeru was sent to the void
