Between yesterday and today, I seem to be having issues watching this episode in particular. Ep 3 loads up just fine but this one just won't start. EDIT: The weirdness has passed and it works fine now.

I imagine it was largely a task left to common foot-soldiers rather than Knights. Since it was such a dirty job. Given the fact that Lenore mentioned her parents being murdered by English soldiers, chances are Lenore was born sometime during The Hundred Years war between France and England. A time when Sieges were pretty common in France. Usually enemy nobility would be taken prisoner. The fact that Lenore's parents were murdered, suggests to me two things. Either their Castle held out for so long that the English Commander ordered them killed in retaliation. Or the English soldiers went against orders.
