In the beginning yes of course for killing Ace but no matter how much you might deny it or not care for it, he was doing his job and did it effectively by killing the son of the top criminal of the world Golf D Roger. He's even the fleet admiral of the navy. I don't know hate him if you must but he's still a badass and terrifying character. Believe me nothing short of another admiral, garp, or even a yonkou can fight against Admiral Magma and come out unscathed.
