Yeah, Johan's gonna end up like all those serial killers he used to do his dirty work. Perhaps even worse. If he's not a vegetable they're going to lock him in a room with a door with a window in it with guys looking at him forever.

He saved johan not knowing he was a monster, then saved johan knowing he was a monster. Re confirming that to Tenma all life is equal to him.

He stuck with his principles which in my mind makes Tenma the ultimate savior and upholding the hardest burden to carry which is acknowledging that life is precious regardless of circumstances.

Hey Curtis, since we're now pretty much at the end I wanted to make sure you got some of the subtext since I'm unsure how familiar you are with the bible. Throughout the series there are heavy implications that Johan is the Anti-Christ, or at least Anti-Christ-like. It comes up from time to time, such as when the German far-right group were talking about propping up a leader, when Schuwald talks about the fires of hell being reflected in Johan's eyes, and now in this episode. The best biblical passages to relate to the show come from Revelations 13, specifically:
[1] And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
[3] And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
[4] And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
If that's not on the nose enough, the title of the show is Monster, which is pretty much just used as a synonym for Beast. So when the drunk shot Johan this episode and then claimed that he saw a "Monster with 7 heads and horns" attacking his son, the implication is that he saw Johan as he really is, or rather as he spiritually is. Just thought you might find it interesting.

i probably never understand people like tenma, who are willing to save someone like Johan again, even after knowing what he did
