On a side note, I do feel Joe drinks a little bit too much alcohol at the moment, but I can't really blame him.

If Joe drinks too much hopefully he knows he has your support to help him when he decides to do something about it. Know this that you guys are not alone. Have experienced french AA first hand and it is quite helpful. Even if you find that he has no problem. It’s a great place to see if you might have a problem.
