When it comes to cooking, Joe and I can't be more different. He likes to follow strictly the recipes, and I like to improvise from time to time. Of course, most of the time, he doesn't appreciate my artistic take on cooking. XD

It's easy for us. My hubby has Celiac disease and is severely lactose intolerant, allergic to red meat and can't eat roughage because of 2 esophagus surgeries years ago. We cook our own meals (I, unfortunately can eat pretty much ANYTHING, which doesn't help my waistline), so there's never any tension there. Maybe Joe will come around after trying some of your "creations".

You should not mess with a man and his stomach! I know. It can be difficult. You are you, but he is him! You already know how he is. So, sometimes you just seem to want an argument...because you already know what's going to happen. When it comes to pesto and Joe, just keep it plain and simple; don't push the pesto button by getting all creative. Save that for something else. I know you can do it..... :)

So cute. Am more of a recipe follower only because am not good with improvising. My mother was much more of an improviser but she was a great cook. Her improvised beef stroganoff is so much better than the real thing.

I agree with both of you. For me it depends on how comfortable I am making it. If I'm not sure what to do I follow the recipe and add in extra stuff not too far fetched but if I'm really confident in it I'd start doing my own thing 😎

Find recipes that use ingredients in creative ways or unconventional ways instead. #Compromise And add your twists with variations on seasonings etc instead.

Honestly, I think follow the recipes is a safe strategy, and most of the time it works. Otherwise you need to do some experiments. Freestyle in cooking it needs a lot of luck
