If Nico truly has clinical depression, or if you think he has it, then contact a local psychiatrist or help group and see if there is anything you can do. If you are depressed, you push everyone away, and other unpleasant things. As you have found out, inserting yourself into his life isn't pleasant, but it may be what needs to be done, as if this is clinical depression, once Nico feels alone enough, the results will likely not be pleasant.\
