Status Report Poll Question

So I didn't really think about this before, but would people want me to keep doing the monthly status reports even if there's an update?

I didn't do them prior to the big gap in releases and just did the updates with occasional pop up for stuff like that when it mattered.

Is this something people would be interested in seeing continue for the development of the game?

I will also be making older status reports public on subscribestar. Patreon has some rules for lewd images being public which some of them have, so I think it will just be easier if they're managed like that. So probably a few weeks to a month before I make a new report public would be the idea I guess?

Be sure to give your feedback if you have any! This wasn't really a thing I considered doing before.

It's interesting, I would have thought I liked the status reports. . . until you asked me. Then I realized, nah, the content updates speak for themselves. I don't crave additional check-ins from that except to hear something you'd like us to know, and I think talking about work that takes longer than a month is good.

I appreciate the updates. Not everyone will go to the discord, simply because they either don't want to, or have a bad computer. A little post now and again, "I'm still here, things are going well. Update still some time away, but just wanted everyone to know I'm OK." Goes a long way. One of the other ones I followed, went totally no response for a very, very long time. Then wondered why nearly 90% of their patrons left, why they had requested refunds, and tried raising the prices for the few that remained.

I've been liking the monthly reports. There's enough time between them to have something to talk about, even if it's one where you are set back; and it lets us know you are alive. If you are releasing an update (content/bug fixes/etc) when you normally would release a status, then I'd say a status would not be needed that month.

I'm gonna say yes mainly because anything can happen and that same thing may or may no impede on your progress. Either way, it's a safer bet to post monthly reports just to keep it relevant because we all might have some stuff going on too. I also like seeing sneak peaks of art updates anyways so I'm gonna be a little biased๐Ÿคท either way. I think you have done a fair job in the past with it and I liked knowing what was bring removed or added because I like being included on what is going on with the creative process!

If there's another long gap without new content, a status report with previews of what's coming is nice. But if you're regularly adding more content, the status is more self evident.

For those of us who aren't very active on the discord server, it can be easy to feel kind of out of the loop regarding what specifically you're working on. Monthly reports would really help alleviate that I think, so I'm all for them. On a related note, perhaps you could also have monthly updates to the Content Plans post (assuming there's anything to actually add/remove from it on a given month, ofc). Even if it's just crossing out features/content you've recently added, keeping it up to date would make it feel more reliable. Anyway, keep up the great work :LillianHandPat:

I think that level of transparency is important for people that help fund the game's development, myself included.

Oysterkeeper

I voted yes, but really I just want to have a sense of what the next content is going to be.

Quellan

Seconded!

More communication is mo' bettah. As mentioned above, it helps folks to know what is going on and sets expectations appropriately for releases.

Phoenix

I think regular update on what is being worked on and progress helps to calm peoples nerves when there is substantial time between releases.

Bluntforce

Fortnightly updates I think would be sufficient.

No

I like the status reports. Particularly the interesting parts are what's being worked on or will be worked on in the near future. New update was bomb! Keep up the good work chief.
