2023 General Update

We are six months into the year but hey..

Wanted to write a little update about how my comics are doing! How I'm doing. All that stuff!

THE ME STUFF

2023 has been rough for me! I wanted it to be the year of comics and drawing for me, but that didn't end up happening in the first half. I'm only now getting properly into it again!

It was a combination of a lot of things, struggling to balance making comics & my job. Health stuff. And the big one, crushing insecurity about Rabbit Hole and Mother (my next comic).

Speaking of..

THE RABBIT HOLE STUFF

It's still done, as its been for quite a while! Updates could have been faster for sure, but I am just in immense self doubt about it. The feelings are complicated! I am afraid that people won't be happy with the ending, and with the questions I answer in the comic (and the ones I leave unanswered).

I hope its alright to talk about these feelings too! Along with the gratitude towards all readers. My insecurities are definitely not yours to fix. I'll push on through and show you the end! The whole thing is 193 (or 194 if I do a last double spread) pages long.

Printing the comic has been something I've been asked about quite a few times. It's still a maybe, but I've started compiling the pages into a format fit for printing. That includes redrawing some pages, so there will be some fun new things to look at if it ever ends up happening. To you guys, I'll show some previews of the redraws.

THE OTHER COMIC STUFF

By "other comic", I mostly mean Mother. It'll be my next project. Some patrons have seen concepts and sneak peeks for it. I drew 11 pages, hit a wall, hated everything I had done so far, and am now redrawing those pages with a new style.

I KNOW I KNOW, I keep committing the sin of redrawing instead of just moving forward. But for me, redrawing sometimes is a life and death for a comic. If I am not satisfied with what I see, I just can't keep working on it. I'll show some concepts and pages to patrons soon!

I don't know for sure when I'll start uploading actual pages of Mother! I don't have a start date in mind. But drawing Mother is my first priority at the moment. I want to get a nice buffer so I can start uploading for you guys. For the length, it'll be on the shorter side. I'd estimate something like 50ish pages, but it could swing wildly to less or more.

The other comic that has been taking space in my head at the moment, is my alien corgi comic. I dug up the first concepts for it, they were from 2014! Almost ten years ago! Need to get this thing out of my head, lol. It'll be a shorter comic, something like Little Wolf and Black Cat.

After those two, aaghh! So many comics live in my head! I just don't know which to choose. These will all be longer comics. They will also most likely feature dogs. FINALLY, a classic dog comic from me!
