Sneak peek for my next comic + style progression

Hello! Long time no behind the scenes but i really think this will be a fun one!

So, what you're looking at are 3 different versions of the first page of my next comic, after Rabbit Hole is completed. I have four more pages of bunnies to draw, and then it's done. You'll of course still get pages for a while!

But with that, it's time to start thinking about my next comic, and what I want it to look like. There's been a long time between all of these versions of the 1st page, the latest was just done today! So, let me give you some comments

1st try:

Hoo boy, it looks so.. unfinished, does it not!! I always knew i wanted the style to look kind of loose & to not take too much time on the art, but this is a bit too much... but the color scheme is there, and i do like the concept of the page!

2nd try:

Getting there! The brushwork on the characters is still not to my liking, but at least it doesn't look like a loose sketch! I feel like the closeup of the puppies is way too high up. That's one thing that I like better in the 1st try. I do like the eerie look those trees give this forest! It feels almost unnaturally tall.

3rd (and final) try:

What a change!! I really wanted to there to be more watercolory feel, and this misty vibe for the page. I was feeling the solid blocks of grey less and less and wanted to loosen it up a bit. Drawing the characters still isn't too time consuming and the progress of making this style is really fun and satisfying! It does rely a lot on the textures from different brushes though, it's sometimes a hassle to keep up with what brush does what hehe.

Hope you liked this little sneak peek into the next comic I'll be making! It should be a lot shorter than Rabbit Hole (famous last words), and it's a story about a mother and a child. Can't wait to share it with you!!
