the rabbits jump headfirst into the pit, which is a very bad landing position.. i also like to imagine that the tunnel itself is quite long!

This also makes me wonder how deep the drop is. i assumed before that they either died from ground impact or the beast was waiting to kill them, but it seems even a"soft" landing on the bodies of the others is enough to be lethal
